Cheekbone Surgery Reviews

My lower face still looked heavy even after cheekbone surgery at another clinic; it changed after contouring surgery at an oral and maxillofacial clinic

I’m now 6 months post-op after receiving two facial contouring procedures (square jaw and chin-tip surgery) from Director Shin Hee-jin at EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery! To be honest, I had already had cheekbone surgery at another clinic. At the time, I definitely thought my face looked more refined, but even as time passed, my lower face still felt heavy and my front chin looked wide. On top of that, I had slight facial asymmetry and a recessed-chin impression, so the way my face looked in rear-camera photos stressed me out the most

So I thought cheekbone surgery alone couldn’t solve it, and I needed to have my jawline properly assessed. From then on, I started looking again, mainly for clinics known for facial contouring, including square jaw surgery. Since I had experience with orthodontic treatment, this time I strongly felt that I absolutely needed to go to an oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic where they would evaluate both function and structure. After going to consultations, I had a consultation with Director Shin Hee-jin at EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and the direction became clear!

It wasn’t simply about shaving more bone. She first explained why my lower face looked heavy, and after taking X-rays, she told me in numerical terms which areas needed to be refined and to what extent in order to achieve balance, so I thought, ah! They’re really assessing this properly. The consultation with the manager was also realistic without exaggeration, and the fact that they have a resident anesthesiology specialist and that all the nurses are from university hospitals also played a big role in my decision.

As a result, compared with when I had only cheekbone surgery, after refining the square jaw and chin tip, my overall impression became much lighter, and the stuffy-looking feeling in my lower face disappeared I’m 6 months post-op now, and my facial shape has settled naturally. Every time people seeing me for the first time say my face shape is pretty, I think, ah, this is what I wanted

Even though I gained a little weight, I barely worry about sagging. Very occasionally, if I eat a lot late at night and sleep, my front chin feels slightly tight, but it loosens quickly with massage, so it doesn’t affect my daily life at all. Before, even after cheekbone surgery, I kept feeling like something was 2% lacking, but after properly refining my lower face this time, that subtle stuffiness disappeared, and now I actually like how my face looks in rear-camera photos.

In the end, in my case, I think the key point was the square jaw and mandibular line rather than the cheekbones, and the fact that the director identified that accurately made all the difference in my satisfaction. I’m truly grateful to Director Shin for improving it
