Review of consultations for double-eyelid revision surgery in Busan

Two and a half years ago, I had double-eyelid surgery (incision / upper canthoplasty / epicanthoplasty), but the inner corner area of my left eye ended up too high compared with my eye, so it looked like a sausage eye, and I went around for consultations for double-eyelid revision surgery. It bothers me a lot, but honestly, people I know ask why I would get surgery and say they cannot tell it is sausage-like. My right eye is not sausage-like. This is in Busan.

1. A Plastic Surgery Clinic (consultation with the director)

- Surgery only on the left eye (no need to do both sides. The right side looks natural) - The left and right eyes are asymmetric. The right eyebrow is higher, so I might need a brow lift later? - If the whole line were sausage-like it would be okay, but when only the inner corner area is high, that is the most ambiguous case. Everything has to be taken apart and redone. They would also need to open inside and check whether there is fat. It may not become 100% the same as the right side. They said they are a place that refuses eyes that cannot be done, but they did not say mine could not be done.. - Price for one eye only: mid-1 million KRW range (the director gave the price directly) - After coming out, I talked briefly while standing with the consultant, and she said revision eye surgery is important, so I should visit several places and decide... But if I go to too many places, it will get more confusing, so she recommended seeing 3-4 places and deciding, which I liked.

2. B Plastic Surgery Clinic (consultant > director > consultant) - Surgery only on the left eye (no need to do both sides. It would only create more scarring) - The left and right eyes are asymmetric. Other than that, I do not particularly remember anything.. They did not say it would be difficult - Price for one eye only: low-2 million KRW range (consultant gave the price)

3. C Plastic Surgery Clinic (consultant > director > consultant) - Surgery only on the left eye. (Doing both sides was also recommended. It is possible to do only the left, but after surgery, the left may feel larger later) - Even now, the double-eyelid line is not large. If the line is lowered more from here, it will feel like an inner double eyelid, so they recommended keeping some of the current feel - Price: one side low-1 million KRW range, both sides mid-1 million KRW range (consultant gave the price) - Here too, the consultant told me to visit several places and decide, without pressuring me, which was good.

4. D Plastic Surgery Clinic (consultation with the director)

- It seems okay to do only the left side. Planned to proceed with a double-line revision technique. Fat grafting does not seem necessary - They showed me sausage-eye case photos and photos of similar cases where the line was lowered. - Maybe because I went in the afternoon, the director looked very tired... - One side low-1 million KRW range, both sides low-2 million KRW range (the director gave the price directly) - There was no separate consultant consultation, but since the director handled everything from the beginning, I actually liked it. It felt like they compete through skill.

5. E Plastic Surgery Clinic

- Maybe because the director was the youngest, he explained things the best. I liked the director the most - Both eyes must be done. Double-line revision / excision may be done together? Ptosis correction seemed to be mandatory.. However, compared with other places, the consultant consultation was too pressuring and not good. At the first consultation, it was written as previous surgery: incision + ptosis correction, so I said I had not had ptosis correction before, but she said no, I probably had ptosis correction during the original surgery(?) ..which flustered me, and even though I only talked about the inner corner area, she wrote things like I wanted a clearer eye shape (as if creating a reason to include ptosis correction?). Apart from the patient's requests, I saw many consultation notes that seemed to be the consultant's own arbitrary content. The price was high-3 million KRW range. Cash price was mid-3 million KRW range. I went after seeing recent posts saying revision surgery cost was around the mid-2 million KRW range, but I do not know if it differs by person or if it really went up; the price was very high. Other places had said it was not an extremely difficult sausage-eye case that would justify charging a very high price. (Even people I know ask why I would get surgery?)

P.S. They said if I put down a same-day reservation deposit of 100,000 KRW, they would discount 100,000 KRW, so I paid it for now (they only explained that I could cancel anytime and gave no prior notice about any other additional matters). Due to personal circumstances, I called to cancel when there were about 2 weeks left before surgery, and a staff member other than the consultant I had spoken with answered and said I needed to talk to the person who consulted with me, but she was on vacation, so it was not possible today, and that for a card cancellation I would probably need to bring the physical card, which is ridiculous. I live outside Busan and had taken time to go there. I will have to speak with the consultant I consulted with, but they clearly knew I did not live in the Busan area, and they never gave prior notice that their clinic requires the physical card to cancel a card payment. It is really inconvenient. I will revise the review tomorrow after speaking with that consultant who is supposedly returning from vacation.
