My nose was so low that it had always been a complex for me, but after seeing friends around me develop contracture side effects after rhinoplasty, I got scared and gave up because I couldn’t bring myself to get nasal cosmetic surgery. Then while watching YouTube, I came across a video from RU Plastic Surgery, and after seeing that the video explained surgery could be done on both the nasal tip and nasal bridge using only autologous costal cartilage, without silicone, which can cause inflammation and contracture, I decided to visit. On the day I went for the consultation, Director Kim Hyun-joo explained in great detail with a PPT how the autologous costal cartilage material would be inserted and in what way, so I felt confident and booked the rhinoplasty. Also, before I even asked the questions I had written down in my phone notes, the director explained everything carefully first, which made me trust her even more. For me, autologous costal cartilage was placed in the nasal tip to build it up, and for my low nasal bridge, the autologous costal cartilage was finely diced, wrapped in fascia, and inserted. Also, since my columella had a shape that curled inward, she corrected the columella shape through columella lowering so it looked round and neat. I was prepared for severe bruising or swelling in the early period after surgery, but unexpectedly, I didn’t swell much, and the bruising was only a little under my eyes? I think that was when I felt the surgery had gone well. Rather, because my nose was blocked with cotton, I had to breathe through my mouth, so my throat was the driest and hurt the most. The area where the autologous costal cartilage was harvested only throbbed when I coughed or moved a lot? Just to that extent. When I look in the mirror now, there is still some residual swelling between my eyebrows and swelling between my cheeks and nasal bridge, but I’m satisfied and like it. The nasal bridge is higher in the line I always wanted, the nasal tip is naturally rounded and not sharp, and even the columella line, which no longer looks sunken in, appears rounded.. I got the surgery according to my taste haha.. The cost is a big burden, but I’m satisfied that I had surgery safely with autologous tissue and without silicone.. Safety comes before money, so I have no regrets.
