[Eye Surgery] 2-Month Review of Incisional Double Eyelid Surgery, Lateral + Lower Canthoplasty, and Under-Eye Fat Repositioning

Hospital: a plastic surgery clinic in Gangnam Doctor: Director Kim Hyo-dong

🔹 Concerns before surgery 5 years ago, I had double eyelid surgery at a local plastic surgery clinic for a low price; it was a partial-incision type? Or they just made a few holes and tied them with thread? Around 3-4 years later, one side had almost completely come undone, and although my eyes were already uneven to begin with, they became even more noticeably uneven. - I had dark circles since I was young, but after my mid-20s, the hollowing under my eyes became more visible, making me look more gaunt and giving me a worse impression. (To the point that makeup could not cover it.) - My eyes were on the upturned side, so I wanted a softer-looking impression and would draw my canthoplasty line downward when doing makeup.

🔹 Incisional double eyelid surgery (Revision surgery 5 years after partial-incision double eyelid surgery at a local clinic) Right after surgery, the line looked high and uneven, so I was worried something had gone wrong. But the clinic said it was because of a difference in swelling and that it would even out over time, so for a week I rested at home, mainly did ice packs, and only took light walks. As a result, I was able to go back to work right after 1 week post-op. There was almost no pain, and the incision scars are not noticeable, so I’m satisfied.

🔹 Canthoplasty I had been told in advance that conjunctival edema could occur after canthoplasty, so I was somewhat aware of it. On days 3-4, I developed mild conjunctival edema under my left eye. I used the prescribed eye drops consistently for about a week after surgery, and it quickly returned to normal. There was no major discomfort, just a slight feeling like my eyelashes were tucked in. Now the canthoplasty line looks natural, and I really like it! This place is great for lateral + lower canthoplasty!!

🔹 Under-eye fat repositioning For under-eye fat repositioning, there was a slightly hard feeling and a bit of yellow bruising for about 2 weeks after surgery. But after that, it gradually softened, and now it looks smooth and neatly corrected. I was worried because I had seen many cases where the whites of the eyes became red or yellow, but I recovered well without those symptoms.

✨ Overall review It has now been exactly about 2 months since surgery, and there is almost no swelling; it feels like I’m more than 95% recovered. Overall, recovery was fast and I’m satisfied with the results, so I think this will be helpful for people considering eye surgery! During the first consultation, the consultation on surgery day, and even after I entered the operating room, Director Kim Hyo-dong personally checked everything carefully, so I felt I could trust him~~
