I had completely monolid eyes, but they weren’t large or charming monolids, so I had always thought I definitely needed double eyelid surgery. I looked for hospitals myself and also got recommendations from people around me, but compared with places I had vaguely found on my own and thought looked okay, the place recommended by an acquaintance who had actually had experience was definitely better. The types of surgery they recommended were a little different, and the lines they designed for me also varied slightly, but I liked the clinic my acquaintance recommended the most, so I had surgery there. I had natural adhesion double eyelid surgery, non-incisional ptosis correction, medial epicanthoplasty, and upper epicanthoplasty. Honestly, at first, because of the swelling, I couldn’t really tell whether it had turned out well, but after walking and doing warm/cold compresses diligently, the swelling went down faster than I expected and the line settled quickly too. Personally, compresses helped a lot with reducing swelling and bruising, but pumpkin tea or swelling-reducing teas didn’t really work for me. Even after the surgery, whenever I had questions, I contacted the consultant, and she always replied kindly, so I think I was able to take better care of myself. And the acquaintance who recommended the hospital to me was even happier than I was, saying the surgery turned out really well, and I was so grateful. I had a really serious complex about it. At first, watching my eyes change felt fascinating, and they looked so pretty that I took photos every day. It makes me realize all over again how much double eyelid surgery can change a face. I think meeting the right doctor is really, really important. If you have any questions, leave a comment. I’ll tell you as much as I can!
