I started looking into rhinoplasty because I wanted a natural-yet-defined straight-to-slightly-curved nose line haha. Before surgery, my nose was seriously… even now, when I think about it, it was just an ugly nose lol. It was bulbous, had a hump, and was even slightly crooked, so I had a pretty serious complex about my nose. Every time I took photos, I could only see my nose, and I really didn’t like my side profile either, so it stressed me out..
I thought about rhinoplasty for a really long time, but now that I think about it, I just wish I had done it sooner lol. Right now, I’m completely satisfied with choosing surgery!!
The nose style I wanted was a natural-yet-defined straight-to-slightly-curved line, and when I looked into it, I saw a lot of posts saying Director Choo Sung-cheol was good at creating that line. So I had a consultation, and during the consultation he explained everything really well and understood the look I wanted, so I decided to have surgery there!
It’s been about 6 months since surgery now. When donor rib cartilage was first recommended, honestly, it felt a bit burdensome, but looking back now, I think it was a really good choice. I naturally had insufficient cartilage, so I was told donor rib cartilage was necessary for nasal tip support, and ear cartilage and silicone were also used together! Looking at the result now, my nasal tip feels firm and the line came out clean, so I’m satisfied.
After the ear cartilage was harvested, the back of my ear hurt subtly for quite a long time. Even until a month or two ago, it felt slightly painful if I touched it or pulled on it, but now that’s almost gone. The scar also barely bothers me now?? And in the beginning, when I touched the nasal tip, it felt kind of like it wasn’t my nose? There was a slight foreign-body sensation, but now that feeling is almost gone too!
Now it feels so natural, just like my own nose, that I sometimes forget I had rhinoplasty lol
What I’m most satisfied with is my nasal alar area lol. Originally, I had a thick bulbous nose with nostril wings that really stood out, but the alar width was reduced cleanly too, so overall my nose looks much more refined lol. In person, the hump and crooked look have also been corrected a lot! I originally wanted a natural-yet-defined straight-to-slightly-curved nose line, and I think the line came out exactly how I imagined, so I’m satisfied!
I saw a lot of people say he creates that straight-to-slightly-curved line well, and now I understand why lol
The swelling also went down faster than I expected, and I’ve been recovering well without any particular discomfort so far, so overall my satisfaction with the surgery is pretty high! The materials used were donor rib cartilage + ear cartilage + silicone!!
