My mother had been struggling because her large breasts felt heavy, and after much thought, she underwent breast reduction surgery at Iroom Plastic Surgery. When I accompanied her to the consultation, this was not mentioned, but after the surgery, the area around the incision line under the areola kept staying brown, so we thought it was a scar. When we asked about it during the monthly follow-up care visits, the director said that residual areolar tissue could not be helped, and that if she wanted to remove it, she would need to receive laser treatment separately (a laser treatment not included in the aftercare and charged separately).
I think risks like this should have been sufficiently explained before the surgery. If they had been, we might have thought it over more and possibly not gone through with the surgery. She had the surgery because her heavy, sagging breasts were a complex for her, but now these surgical marks left like scars have become her new complex, and I feel so upset too.
At the first consultation, they confidently showed us several good cases and explained that the surgery would go well, so we trusted them and made the reservation... but if this was going to be the result, I’m not sure...
I also left a post on the hospital’s cafe asking the director why there was discharge from the areolar incision area and why the surgical marks kept staying dark, but it was deleted without any contact, and my cafe level was downgraded too. If it had not been deleted, I probably would not even be writing this post...... The fact that they deleted my inquiry post like this without contacting me even once...... I just cannot understand it, so I am leaving this post here.
I am writing this because I think other people should keep in mind that postoperative experiences like this can happen when looking into this surgery.
