Day 1 The surgery was over once I opened my eyes and woke up! In the recovery room, while I was still half-asleep, they said they would put Netflix on for me, so I came to my senses in a dazed state like b-_-b. As for pain, my cheekbones were fine, but the tip of my chin felt a bit numb and sore? It felt like what it might be like if I had three wisdom teeth in my chin and had them extracted. Facial contouring reviews vary so much by person; I saw some reviews saying it didn’t hurt and others saying it felt like something had run over them, but it wasn’t to that extent. After the surgery was over, I actually felt relieved. Honestly, pain was my biggest concern, so I asked about adding pain-control anesthesia, but they said it wouldn’t be that bad, so I didn’t add it. They gave me painkillers every 4 hours, so it was manageable. The discomfort was bigger than the pain ㅜ I couldn’t speak, so I communicated through the Notes app, and the nurses kept checking my condition. The director also said it went well, so on the first day, even after the anesthesia wore off, I was just completely drained, like a neutered cat ㅜ I think I repeatedly slept and woke up every hour. And after getting painkillers, I went to the bathroom, but suddenly I felt like I was going to throw up and broke out in a cold sweat. They wiped my sweat and gave me an injection right away, so I was okay. I had an IV connected to my arm, but interestingly, it didn’t hurt even when I moved, so whenever I was bored, I alternated between looking at my phone and sleeping. (When they removed it, I saw it wasn’t a needle but kind of a soft needle? So it didn’t hurt when they removed it either!) Other than swelling + annoying pain + not being able to talk, I was okay. The nurses were really kind. The consultant and the director were all kind too ^0^ What was surprising was that I had liposuction done together too, so I was worried I’d be badly bruised blue or that the tiny blood vessels in my eyes would burst, but other than slight bruising around my mouth and neck, I had no bruises!! The swelling was about like having air puffed into my cheeks, so Face ID still recognized me lol. I guess that’s thanks to the director’s hand skills? I also liked that there were no pencil marks on my face, as if they had erased all the design pen marks in the operating room. It hurts to wipe the surgical area yourself. Sensation was also one of the things I worried about, but I can feel it when I touch it! It feels slightly like dental anesthesia. I wondered, what if I can’t feel anything at all....? But I think it will get even better with time, so that eased my worries too. I actually like being hospitalized.. (?) because I sleep well.. Since it’s a major surgery, being hospitalized gave me a lot of emotional reassurance, and there were other patients in the recovery room next to me, so it felt comforting in a way.. I was truly so grateful that the nurses cared for me like family ㅜ.... At dawn on Day 1, I suddenly started hurting, so they gave me painkillers. They told me it would get better on Day 2, and truly, once I was discharged, the pain disappeared completely haha. Other than the discomfort from my lips being swollen and plump, there’s nothing! Even when I had questions, the consultant gave me feedback even on days off. Usually, using a work phone like that can’t be easy, so I was really grateful~! ^^b Day 3 I kept diligently using mouthwash. Unlike other hospitals, it wasn’t a red mouthwash but a clear one, so it wasn’t unpleasant, and it was slightly refreshing....? It was a comfortable mouthwash to use! I knew Day 3 was when swelling rises the most, so I wondered how swollen I’d get, and when I woke up in the morning, my lower face felt heavy. Still, from the next day onward it would be the period when swelling starts going down, so I worked even harder on swelling care. Day 5 Until Day 4, the swelling was tight and puffy, and it felt like my lips had been tied with rubber bands with dumbbells hanging from them. I also kept going on walks. The compression band was less uncomfortable than I expected, and it was actually more comfortable to have it on. Like when you’re wearing a slightly heavy backpack and someone lifts it from behind, the compression band supported the swelling, so I kept wearing it well. But I heard that if you wear it for too long, the swelling can gather toward the front. They say 1 hour on and 1 hour off is good~! Day 8 I got my stitches removed and received care. After the treatment, it definitely felt like the heavy feeling loosened up. Removing the stitches didn’t hurt at all, and I received care comfortably. The teacher who treated me was so kind, and after even checking the CT, I walked from the hospital all the way to the Express Bus Terminal area to reduce swelling. Week 2 The stitch removal hurt less than I expected. There are painful points, and they tell you in advance that this area may hurt a bit. The stitches at the tip of my chin hurt. Two spots? Other than those, it was fine. It hurt, but now that the stitches were gone, the refreshing feeling was stronger. I feel this every time, but the teachers who treat and care for me are so kind and attentive.. When I lie down, they support the back of my head with their hand.. They ask if anything was uncomfortable and explain things well. I also saw the director, received my Week 2 care well, and walked again to the Express Bus Terminal area to help reduce swelling. Week 3 At some point, the heavy~ feeling in my face disappeared, and only the swelling that felt hard and firm around the lower face remained. After stitch removal, I didn’t have to use mouthwash anymore, and the director said I didn’t have to wear the band either, so daily life became more comfortable. They said I didn’t have to wear the band, but I still wore it occasionally for just 1 hour at a time. Week 4 I came in for care, and the consultant asked if anything was uncomfortable. Since I was already there, they also had the director check my progress~ I said I was uncomfortable because of scar tissue, so they gave me an injection and did one more swelling laser treatment ㅜ There are many hospitals where their attitude changes before and after payment, right? They kept treating me well consistently from the beginning, so I was very grateful~ At first, I was scared to eat, so I only had two boxes of New Care, and even with regular food, I placed it on the roof of my mouth and pressed it hard with my tongue to swallow it down. But they said it’s not good not to chew at all, so I’m trying to carefully chew only soft things. What I noticed from the beginning was that at 45 degrees, the before-and-after difference was clearly visible! I’m not sure about the lower face yet because there’s still some swelling, but on CT it looked well refined, so I’m waiting patiently~
