It has already been 4 weeks since I had my chin implant removed and underwent chin surgery. During recovery, each day felt long, but now that I’m writing this review, it feels strange that quite a bit of time has already passed.
I previously had an implant placed in the tip of my chin. At first, I thought it was fine, but as time went by, the foreign-body sensation kept bothering me, and the fact that it was not my own bone was the biggest psychological burden. So rather than simply removing it, I decided to have advancement surgery at the same time so that the line would not look flat after removal.
When choosing a clinic, I considered experience with implant removal and expertise in chin-tip advancement surgery the most important factors. So I had the surgery at The Standard Contour, and during the consultation, Director Oh Jung-seok realistically explained the possible changes in my current condition and the appropriate degree of advancement, which made me trust him. I liked that he designed the plan while considering the overall balance of my face rather than aiming for an excessive change.
Right after surgery, there was swelling, so the area under my chin felt firm and looked somewhat dull, but as time has passed, it has gradually softened and the line is becoming more defined. Now, at 4 weeks, it has not completely settled yet, but above all, I am most satisfied that there is no foreign-body sensation from the implant at all. I feel much more comfortable psychologically, and my side profile has naturally come forward, making my lower face look more defined than before.
The recovery process involved more stiffness and a slightly dull sensation that lasted for a while rather than severe pain, and I was able to go about daily life without difficulty. I’m looking forward to it settling even more naturally going forward.
