I had a consultation for ptosis correction, upper canthoplasty, and lower canthoplasty together. They did say that doing all three at the same time could change my impression quite a lot, but overall the explanation felt like it moved along quickly. There wasn’t much time spent structurally explaining what role each surgery would play.
They briefly checked my eye-opening strength, but the reasoning for whether I truly needed ptosis correction wasn’t detailed. The explanation also wasn’t very in-depth about the possibility of the eyes being opened up too much if upper and lower canthoplasty were done together, or about where the scars would be located. The design process ended quickly too, and there wasn’t any separate detailed simulation.
The consultation atmosphere wasn’t uncomfortable, but I didn’t feel like it clearly organized which procedures were really necessary for my eyes. The cost information followed relatively quickly. I still had concerns about deciding right away, and I thought it would be better to get another consultation at a different hospital.
