This was when I had eyebrow tattooing done, so I look super intense. I had also gotten aegyo-sal filler then>After<This was midway, when I had nose surgery and also corrected eye asymmetry, the part where ptosis correction had not worked well, and revised the double-eyelid incisional line to be a little bigger. My eyes look a bit small because there was swelling>After<After making the double-eyelid line a bit bigger, the lower-lateral canthoplasty looked like it had stuck back up, so I got revision lower-lateral canthoplasty at another clinic. This was week 2. I liked that the outer-corner shape came out so pretty, but once the swelling went down, the end line that had formed disappearedㅜ>After<I gathered the photos. Seeing them like this, the effect of lower-lateral canthoplasty definitely seems visible. For the first surgery, the lateral canthoplasty came out well, and for the revision, the lower canthoplasty seems to have come out well>After<Last one, currently..! I’m not touching the lower-lateral canthoplasty anymore, and the part near the front of the outer corner where the line had been set slightly in-out has wrinkled, so I’m thinking of just resetting it as an inlineㅜㅜ This is just something I’m thinking about>After<Makeup + lenses>1n years ago, without knowing anything, I got my first double eyelid surgery near my neighborhood with incision + epicanthoplasty (I still have epicanthoplasty scarsㅠㅠ I regretted it later)
I lived okay for a while, but the outer ends of my eyes looked too stuffy, so I went to a clinic famous for lower-lateral canthoplasty, Clinic 1, and got lower-lateral canthoplasty. The director gave the consultation in a slightly blunt but straightforward way, and like all cosmetic-surgery beginners do, I asked for it to look naturalㅋ
I was very satisfied with the result. My eye ends had been so closed off, so they opened well and maintained well.
Then I lived fine again, and while I was looking into getting nose surgery, it felt like my eye asymmetry was getting worse, so I had eye + nose surgery at the same time. For the eyes, they corrected ptosis well and raised the incisional line a little more.
Around the time the swelling was slowly going down, since I had raised the double-eyelid line a little, the lateral canthoplasty felt lacking again, so I thought of lower-lateral canthoplasty. Overall it was okay, but the eye ends felt slightly slanted upward, so I searched thinking this would really be the last time.
I got revision lower-lateral canthoplasty at Clinic 2, famous for lower-lateral canthoplasty. The director felt younger and sweeter than the first director. During consultation, I asked them to overcorrect as much as possible within a range without side effects (so the redness at the eye ends wouldn’t show)ㅜㅜ That’s how revision lower-lateral canthoplasty usually is...ㅋ
As the surgery name suggests, the surgery was done with a slightly curved-stone-like line. At 2 weeks, my eyes were so pretty, but that didn’t last longㅠㅠ In the end, the outer-corner side gradually adhered back a little, but the lower canthoplasty was corrected well, so my eyes became slightly softer-looking.
As for lower-lateral canthoplasty scarring, when I open my eyes very wide, the eye ends remain slightly white, but it didn’t remain as a complete ㄷ-shape. Since I have sunken eyes, not protruding eyes, it seems not very visible.
But because I have sunken eyes, I think more lateral canthoplasty effect is no longer possible. If I get greedy here and slit them more, I think it would look creepy, so my lower-lateral canthoplasty surgery is now over.
At the second revision, the director said that depending on each person’s eye shape, the length that can be incised and the effect are different, and that for me, this was the best possible.
It has been 5 years since the first lower-lateral canthoplasty, and over 2 years since the second.
For me, I didn’t really have side effects or dissatisfaction either time, so if someone told me to do it again, I would. What was uncomfortable was that for about 2-3 weeks after surgery, I had conjunctival edema + conjunctival injection, so going to work right away is absolutely impossible.
I recently joined to look into facial liposuction and philtrum reduction, and while browsing the boards, I often saw everyone here worrying about lower-lateral canthoplasty, so I’m leaving this in case it helps ㅎ
