Review After Visiting Clinics for Eye Surgery Consultations

I currently have monolids, and my eyes aren't exactly small. As I entered my 30s, my eyelids seemed to be drooping little by little, so my eyes looked heavy. I was bothered by opening my eyes with my forehead, so I went to an ophthalmology clinic last year, and my left eye was diagnosed with ptosis. I like the feel of my monolids, so I wanted the line to be as thin as possible and just wanted opening my eyes to become more comfortable!! So even though I'm a woman, I was curious whether surgery would be possible at about the level men usually get, and I went around for consultations.

1. Gangnam ㄷㅇㅇ They recommended non-incisional ptosis correction and set an in-line crease. At first they made it a little higher, but when I said I didn't like it, they said a lower line was also possible, which I liked. The event price was in the mid-1 million won range, so I felt it was reasonable. But I told them it hadn't been long since I had LASEK surgery, and they said double-eyelid surgery would be possible after just 2 weeks had passed, so I got the feeling that they didn't really care much about eye health(?).

2. Gangnam ㅇㅆ They're famous for lateral lower canthoplasty, so I went for a consultation once. The consultant was kind, and I liked that she showed me lots of review photos. The director suggested non-incisional ptosis correction + epicanthoplasty + lateral lower canthoplasty. But I said I disliked a high line, yet they set the line high, so I didn't want to do ptosis correction there. The consultant showed me photos of cases that maintained monolids without ptosis correction and only had lateral lower canthoplasty, and the recovery period looked short and the horizontal length of the eyes seemed to get longer, so I was really tempted.

3. Apgujeong ㅈㅇㅋㅇ They suggested non-incisional ptosis correction. They did not recommend epicanthoplasty, and said lateral canthoplasty wasn't essential but could be done. They said the lateral canthoplasty would be for matching the eyes because the outer corner of one eye is slightly more upturned. For the ptosis-correction line, I said I wanted it as low as possible and invisible when I open my eyes, but they recommended making it higher than that. They said that when I'm not opening my eyes with my forehead, the eye shape should be visible to the extent that the eyelashes don't droop. They said my eyelids would droop more in a few yearsㅠㅠ Everything they said was right, but it wasn't the result I want right now, so I felt a bit disappointed. They said women and men should be assessed a little differently. But the doctor really seemed extremely professional and like someone who absolutely doesn't do unnecessary surgery or anything even slightly risky. The consultant was also really kind, and among all the clinics I've visited so far, this one was the best for kindness. Non-incisional ptosis correction was under 2 million won, and lateral canthoplasty was 1.4 million won.

4. Gangnam ㄷㅂ They said non-incisional ptosis correction could also be done as an inner double-eyelid line and that they would set it however I wanted. They said my eyes would benefit more from epicanthoplasty than lateral canthoplasty. (This opinion was also different from other places, so it was interesting.) For the eyes, it's about 1 million won if epicanthoplasty is excluded, and about 1.5 million won if epicanthoplasty is included. So for now, I made a reservation here for ptosis correction (actually, I reserved nose surgery together too), but there aren't many reviews, so I'm not sure how it will be. Because the line is low, the recovery period should be fast, and to my eye, it honestly seems like there will be almost no change. For now, I'm going to think about whether to cancel the reservation or just go for it for another day or two.

The more I go around for consultations, the deeper my worries getㅜㅜ Now that I'm actually about to do it, I'm nervous and worried... I'm not even in a situation where I want a big change, so it also feels like I might be doing something unnecessary. Maybe it's because this is my first surgery @_@ Please give me strength.
