Two months ago, I had mouth-corner surgery + lateral philtrum reduction together at a clinic. My mouth corners had already been slightly downturned for a long time, so even when I was just sitting still, my expression looked kind of blank + a little tired, and that stressed me out so much
So I finally made up my mind and had the surgery, and now that I’m exactly 2 months post-op… I definitely feel like my overall impression looks much brighter. Even when I’m not smiling, I look like I have a slight smile, so my face feels much softer than before.
The surgery was done under sedation anesthesia, so it felt like I lay down and then woke up and it was over. The stitches were removed after 5 days. After about a month, the swelling and settling became much more natural, and now at 2 months, when I look in the mirror, I’m used to it like these are just my own lips!
Originally, I only went in thinking about the mouth corners, but I also did lateral philtrum reduction together! It helped the upper lip line and horizontal length connect more naturally, so compared with doing only the mouth corners, the result definitely feels softer and more natural. Rather than looking like “I had plastic surgery,” it feels more like I was originally someone with this kind of lip shape? I like that, so I’m satisfied.
I can’t say the scars are completely invisible yet, but they’re only noticeable if you look closely from up close, and with makeup, I barely pay attention to them. Plus, 3 scar-care sessions were included, so getting consistent care makes me feel a bit more reassured too!
Most of all, hearing people around me say, “Your expression looks really relaxed,” “Your impression looks so much better,” that’s what I like the most
Before, when taking photos, I had to deliberately smile while paying attention to my mouth corners, but these days, even if I just stay still for a photo, my impression naturally comes out pretty. I think that’s truly the best part.
