Hello. I had been stressed for a really long time because of my cheekbones that protruded sideways. In particular, the area beside my eyes looked wide, so my face looked wider and flatter than it actually was, and I also had hollow cheeks, so I was always bothered by how uneven my facial contour looked. My cheekbones looked especially prominent from a 45-degree angle rather than from the front, so I hated taking photos. My face is originally on the short and wide side, and because my cheekbones made it look even bigger, I always went around covering them with my hair. That was a really big source of stress.
I found out about the clinic while looking at an app event, and honestly, at first the price was the biggest reason. Still, the fact that it was a one-doctor clinic specializing in facial contouring, that an anesthesiology director was on site, and that CCTV was installed gradually made me trust it more. Personally, large hospitals feel a bit overwhelming to me, and since it was a one-doctor clinic, I thought they would actually examine me more carefully, so I chose it.
During the consultation, all the staff were kind, and the director explained each of the things I was curious about in detail, which made me trust them. They also explained the surgical method and how my face shape would change in a way that was easy to understand, so a lot of my anxiety decreased.
It has now been 6 months since the surgery, and I am really satisfied with the results. In the past, I avoided taking photos, but now taking photos feels much less burdensome, and I have gained a lot of confidence. People around me also often say, “Your face got smaller,” or “Did you lose weight?” Before, when I looked at photos taken by others, the first thing I noticed was my cheekbones, but now I almost never feel that way.
When I wash my face, the face shape I feel with my hands is completely different from before, so I still get surprised sometimes. Once my cheekbones were refined, my facial lines became much softer, and before, applying blush felt awkward because of my cheekbones, but now I even enjoy doing makeup. I do feel like my smiling impression has changed a little, but instead of a smile where the cheekbones stick out sharply upward like before, it feels like the corners of my mouth spread naturally to the sides, so I think it looks softer, and I am satisfied with that.
The swelling only bothered me in the early stage, and after about 3 months, it felt like almost all of it had gone down. Now, at 6 months, there is no swelling or foreign-body sensation at all, and it just feels like my original face. The deep cheek fat removal I had done together also felt slightly puffy at first, but now it has settled naturally, so my face looks cleaner.
As for decreased sensation, right after surgery the area under my eyes and around my upper lip felt a little awkward, but over time almost all of it came back, and now I have no discomfort at all in daily life.
Overall, I am so satisfied that I absolutely do not want to go back to the time when I was stressed because of my cheekbones. Only my face shape changed, but it feels like my photos, makeup, and even facial expressions have all changed, to the point where I feel the time I spent worrying was a waste. Even now, 6 months later, I am really satisfied with the results.
