First of all, I had the surgery in Busan, and I went to two places for consultations. For reference, before surgery, I didn’t have a lot of eyelid fat, and my eyes were large for monolids. So I was deciding between a clinic that recommended a full incision and a clinic that said a partial incision would be enough. Since full incision takes longer for the swelling to go down, and I thought a partial incision alone would probably be fine, I went to the clinic that recommended partial incision and had a more detailed consultation. They said I open my eyes using the strength of my forehead, so they recommended ptosis correction, and I added that. I also usually had pretty severe epicanthal folds, so the doctor recommended epicanthoplasty too. After about a year, I think almost all the minor swelling had gone down too. Pain level? Honestly, the partial incision and ptosis correction didn’t hurt at all, and with the epicanthoplasty, I suddenly felt pain like being pricked with a needle and teared up. But even then, it was just a stinging level, so it was okay. I went in worried because I’d heard it really hurts when the stitches are removed, but rather than tearing up because it hurt, it felt more like my eyes were irritated, so tears came out? I was worried the epicanthoplasty might close back up, but after getting it done, my round-looking impression improved, and since the inner corners were opened a bit, my eyes looked more refreshed, so I recommend it. But if you cut too much, I think it would look really unnatural, so I recommend only opening it a little. My eyes weren’t that far apart to begin with, so the doctor said we should only open it a little, and only did a little.
