Last month, I wrote a review about successfully getting double eyelid surgery, going from a more masculine-looking face to Go Youn-jung-style eyes, but back then it was exactly the 2-week mark, so there was still some minor swelling, you know? I got more comments than I expected, and a lot of people were curious, so… Now that it’s been well over almost a month, I’m writing a second review!
To start with the conclusion, my eye line has really settled into exactly the look I wanted! I don’t really like lines that are too low, so I was a little worried about how it would look after the swelling went down, but it came out at exactly the thickness I wanted, and they made my eyes look soft and delicate lol If the line had suddenly dropped and disappeared like an inner double eyelid, I almost would’ve come back with a dissatisfied review... hehe
I had the surgery done with a non-incisional method, and maybe because of that, the swelling really did go down quickly. People say it usually takes a month before it looks natural, but for me, from week 2, once I put on makeup, it was barely noticeable, and now even the minor swelling is completely gone, so the line is very stable. Even when I wake up in the morning, my eyes barely feel swollen, and the feeling when opening my eyes isn’t very different from before. Maybe because I used double eyelid tape and glue a lot? Compared to that, this feels much more comfortable now lol
This was honestly my first time getting anything done to my face, so I was a bit scared, but looking back now, I feel like I worried for nothing... I kind of understand why people say double eyelid surgery is almost like a procedure^^ Anyway, I really, really hope the line stays just like this, and by my standards, I think this is a huge success, so I’m posting partly to show it off. I’m so satisfied with my face now that I don’t even feel tempted to get more done haha
If there are people considering double eyelid surgery, rather than casually going to consultations thinking, “I’ll get all kinds of recommendations and decide!” and then getting swayed, I think it’s better to clearly tell the doctor what your own needs are. Especially if you’re someone like me who used double eyelid glue and tape a lot before, you probably have a line you’re aiming for? A familiar line, so make sure to show that. It definitely seems to help when the doctor refers to it for the design!!
+++ Even if you show and insist on things like this, there are sometimes doctors who still make everyone look similar like a factory, or doctors who are extremely stubborn about their own preferred aesthetic. Make sure to filter places like that well through reviews before going lol
