The review photos from the clinic were generally similar to the eye shape I was aiming for, so I made a consultation appointment with high expectations. I did make a reservation, but there was a bit of a wait. First, I had a brief talk with the consultant, then went straight into the consultation with the director. The director was generally friendly, and even though I went with a friend, he first said it was okay for us to be seen together, so I felt comfortable. He also showed me several double-eyelid heights, explained what each one would look like, and it felt like he was thinking through what would be better together with me, so that part was fine. I don’t remember the exact line well, but overall I did think it would look pretty. When I asked about canthoplasty, he measured with a protractor and explained that statistically it would be good to do it, but he didn’t give me a clear standard on whether I definitely should or shouldn’t do it, so I ended up worrying about it even more. I kept thinking about whether I should do it or not, so the consultation felt a bit difficult. After that, while talking with the consultant again, eyelid ptosis correction came up even though it hadn’t been mentioned during the director’s consultation, which caught me off guard. Later, when I called and asked again, they said my eyes didn’t need it, but because of this process, overall it was a consultation where my trust dropped a little.
