I was listening to a friend who was deliberating about nose surgery, and I felt like I got a lot of help from this community when I had my own rhinoplasty, so I came to leave a review~ I hope it helps everyone... First of all, I had it around December 2023, so it’s been a little over almost 2 years... In conclusion, I’m very satisfied. People around me have told me so many times that my nose is pretty, and until I tell them, they absolutely don’t know I had surgery. That’s how natural it turned out. Even my parents, who were against the surgery at first, now tell even my sibling to get it done. During the consultation, my top priority was correcting my bulbous nose, and I didn’t get greedy with the nose height, just raised it a little. And the common thing I heard while going around for consultations was that my nose was on the short side, so they said they would raise the starting point to make it slightly longer and lower the columella... I went to consultations at several places and decided on the hospital I went to now. (If you’re curious about the consultation review, I’ll write it later... but it was a year ago haha.) The thing I changed right before going into surgery was when the doctor showed me the silicone implant he was going to use. My face is a bit broad and flat, so I thought it would look a little funny if only my nose was high and slim, so I asked for a slightly thicker silicone implant (not taller in height, but a silicone implant that looked a little thicker from the front..) Right after surgery, the doctor came and said he put in a slightly higher silicone implant than the one we originally planned, and I seriously almost fainted... But thinking about it now, if he had used the one originally planned, I might not have been satisfied... I was supposed to keep the packing in for about 3-4 days, but wow, that was harder than the surgery, so I took it out myself after just one day... Then I went to get the stitches removed, but my eyes looked so close together and all I could see was my nose, so I was really depressed, and my mom also scolded me... Until about a month and a half after surgery, it was honestly like a mental breakdown itself... The swelling hadn’t even fully gone down yet, but I kept coming in every day to ask questions and spiraling by myself.. lol To be honest, it wasn’t a completely successful surgery because I do still have some internal scar tissue inside my nose. But I think I heard that if I went to the hospital early after surgery, they could remove it. I also heard the scar-tissue injection hurts soooo much, so I was scared and didn’t go, so that’s partly on me. And since it’s inside the nose, you can’t see it unless you look closely. Still, I have absolutely no trouble breathing. Now, at the 1-year mark, I am satisfied, but if I could go back, I don’t think I would have used the thicker silicone implant.. I think I would have trusted the doctor’s aesthetic sense and just gone with it... I’m not dissatisfied, but the bridge does look slightly thick... Still, now I’m just praying that contracture doesn’t happen... Thanks everyone for reading my long review. I hope it helps... For the nose information, honestly I only remember the hospital and don’t remember the doctor’s name, so I intentionally didn’t write it, but the information from when I went around to rhinoplasty consultations is on my old phone, so if anyone is curious, I’ll look for it!! I don’t have many before photos, so you can see them if you go into my old post!
