Hello. I had been concerned about facial asymmetry and improving my face shape, so I underwent square jaw surgery and chin surgery at an oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic. I’m leaving this review by summarizing my personal experience, hoping it may be of some help to those considering surgery or interested in facial contouring, including two-contour procedures.
The reason I decided to have surgery was that I had concerns about asymmetrical aspects of my face shape, an angular facial contour, and a receding chin, so I had the surgery at an oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic.
I’m currently 3 months post-op. When I touch my face, it still feels like there is some swelling, but my face has changed a lot. Personally, I feel that my chin, which used to be receding, now has more volume, and the square jaw area also seems more refined and softer from both the side and front compared with before surgery. At the current 3-month point, my recovery feels about 95% similar to before surgery. I have no discomfort when eating in terms of sensation at the tip of my chin or the scars inside my mouth, and now at 3 months, it feels like all sensation has returned. I can also open my mouth wide enough to fit three fingers now, and I don’t have pain when opening my mouth or discomfort in the temporomandibular joint. However, since the bones have not fully healed yet, I think there are still things I need to be careful about.
Even now at 3 months, I’m continuing warm compresses about once a week, drinking enough water, and taking walks. My personal satisfaction after surgery seems good. As for daily life, I can eat, sleep, and live comfortably just like before surgery, but I’m still being careful with high-intensity exercise and overly tough or hard foods. This concludes my 3-month review after facial contouring surgery.
