Surgery: Incisional eye shape correction + upper epicanthoplasty (medial epicanthoplasty)
Hello. I had surgery last week, and yesterday I finally had my stitches removed, so I’m leaving a 1-week review.
1. Why I decided to have surgery (eyes with thick skin)
I had typical “small clam-like eyes with thick skin and short horizontal width.” Because my eye-opening strength was weak, I always opened my eyes using my forehead, and even though I’m in my 20s, I was stressed that my forehead wrinkles were getting too deep, so I decided to have surgery.
2. Why I chose Really & Director Lee Jun-hee
The most important thing I looked for while going to consultations was “communication.” Director Lee Jun-hee led the conversation very kindly from the consultation, and rather than just saying everything was possible, he honestly showed me the best line that could be achieved given my thick skin condition, so I trusted him.
3. Surgery day & anesthesia (the ultimate in attentiveness)
It was done with local anesthesia after 10 minutes of sedation anesthesia. I’m the type whose anesthesia wears off faster than others, so I got flustered because I felt slight pain during the surgery. But before I even flinched, the director immediately noticed and asked first, saying, “Oh, it seems like your anesthesia is wearing off.” He explained my constitution in detail and adjusted the anesthesia again, so I was able to finish the rest of the surgery very comfortably. Even in the recovery room, there was absolutely no pressure to leave quickly, and they let me rest fully until I felt okay, so I felt well cared for.
4. 1-week recovery process (bleeding & uneven swelling)
Recovery process: On the day of surgery and until the next day, quite a lot of blood came from my left eye. I already had an appointment to visit the next day, so I endured it and went, but until I got there, I was extremely worried on my own. Fortunately, as soon as I arrived at the clinic, the director carefully stopped the bleeding and even did a swelling laser treatment, so the bleeding stopped right away.
Current condition: Because there was bleeding early on, my left eye currently still has a little more swelling than the right. Still, it is going down noticeably day by day, so I’m not too worried.
Medical staff’s hospitality: I went today to have my stitches removed, and the manager, nurse, and even the director all remembered me and warmly welcomed me, asking, “Was there anything uncomfortable?” I was touched. Since it is a one-doctor clinic, I really felt that patient care is definitely different.
5. Overall review & satisfaction
After getting my stitches removed today, opening my eyes feels much lighter. More than anything, my dull-looking eyes finally look like “real eyes,” and it’s amazing that my eyes open without me having to use strength in my forehead. Even though there is still some swelling now, the line is clean enough that I can walk around without wearing a hat. Men with thick skin and lots of worries like me, please definitely try a consultation with Director Lee Jun-hee. I recommend him!
