I had had a bit of vascular dark circles under my eyes since I was young, but as I got older, my face became hollow and my skin also sagged, so the dark circles came down badly and became sunken. I really couldn’t leave it like that, so for the first time in my life, I got fat grafting. It was micro fat grafting, and they harvested it from my abdomen. After visiting several hospitals famous for under-eye fat repositioning, I decided and went with the final hospital. The reason I chose that hospital was that they didn’t recommend fat repositioning. Most hospitals recommended repositioning as a set if I was getting fat grafting. Honestly, I didn’t want to have surgery involving an incision by flipping the lower eyelid, and I thought the downtime would be long too. The swelling also seemed to be really severe. So I went to a hospital that only does fat grafting, and now that it’s almost been a month, my conclusion is that the dark circles aren’t completely invisible, but unlike before, I don’t have to cake on concealer over the dark circles. Even with light makeup, the dark circles look like they’re gone, and my face looks brighter, so I’m satisfied so far. But because of the surgical characteristics of that hospital, the under-eye swelling? is a bit severe, and it still hurts when I touch it and there is swelling, so I’m being careful. They say it takes 3 months for the fat to engraft. I think if I do the second round too, it will be almost perfect, so I’m considering the second round. I hope the lumpiness loosens up soon. People don’t recommend under-eye fat grafting because of side effects like lumpiness, but if it weren’t for those kinds of side effects, I’d want to recommend fat grafting for people who have too little flesh under the eyes. I’m just hoping the lumps soften soon.
