I’d often been told that my cheekbones looked prominent and made my impression seem strong. My biggest concern was that my face looked wide, especially from a 45-degree side angle. So while looking into cheekbone reduction surgery that could naturally soften my facial contours, I ended up choosing this hospital.
The consultation went relatively quickly, and they said the surgical design would be decided on the day of surgery after the director examined me in person, so that day I only set the date. On the day of surgery, the surgery before mine was delayed a little, so I waited about an hour before going into the operating room. Before the surgery, I had a consultation with the director for about 10 minutes, but I only heard an explanation that my right cheekbone was slightly larger, and then the surgery proceeded right away. I found out after surgery how many millimeters had been removed.
Right after the surgery, it was a pretty difficult day, to the point that I felt nauseous and even had a little nosebleed. But the hospital gave clear guidance on recovery room care and the precautions afterward, so I was able to recover without major problems.
It has now been about 30 days since the surgery, and I can definitely feel that my overall facial line has softened and the width of my face has decreased. A lot of the swelling has also gone down, so when I look in the mirror, my impression looks much more natural than before. However, what I had expected was a feeling that the cheekbone would sink straight inward along the 45-degree line, but that area still remains slightly, so I do feel a little disappointed. Still, when seen from the front or side, the balance has definitely improved compared to before, and I think the asymmetry on the right side has also been corrected to some extent.
At first, I was worried because I had scheduled the surgery date in a hurry, but since recovery has been smooth and the result looks natural, I’m generally satisfied. I’m hoping it will look even more natural than it does now once more time passes and the swelling goes down completely.
