It’s already been 6 months since I had revision rhinoplasty and functional nose surgery. The shape of my nose mattered too, of course, but honestly, whether the revision surgery for rhinitis was successful was the most important thing for me. Even after my rhinitis surgery, my nose kept getting blocked, and daily life was uncomfortable without medication. Since I ended up breathing through my mouth when sleeping, I snored badly too, and the quality of my sleep really dropped. Now I can breathe so refreshingly well through my nose, and it honestly feels like everything is cleared out deep inside. I wondered if I still snored when sleeping, so I even recorded myself, but I was sleeping silently. It was so fascinating. Maybe because of that, my condition is good, and I definitely feel like my quality of life itself has changed. I went to the hospital for a follow-up this time, and after the director examined me, he said I had recovered well without any issues and that everything had settled beautifully, so I felt completely relieved. There’s no foreign-body sensation either, so these days I even forget that I had nose surgery. Maybe because it was done with autologous costal cartilage, until around the 3-month mark I had a slight pulling sensation at the nasal tip. Interestingly, from around the 4-month mark, I barely felt any discomfort when smiling or making facial expressions. Now it feels very comfortable. Just as the director said, as time passed, everything naturally loosened up. As more of the residual swelling went down, the line became much slimmer and cleaner too. I’m satisfied because the straight line I wanted is more clearly visible, and people around me also say it turned out well without looking obviously surgically enhanced. The shape of my nostrils, which used to be asymmetrical, is also staying nicely symmetrical, so I feel proud every time I look in the mirror. The director said it will be maintained well this time, so now I’m going to try to live without worrying. The nose line has been cleaned up nicely, and even the rhinitis has been properly corrected, so I’m happy that I won’t have to be stressed about my nose anymore!
