About 11 years ago, I only had a straight silicone implant placed on the bridge of my nose. The nasal tip was not touched. I don’t remember how many mm it was, and when I called the clinic where I had my first surgery, they said they no longer have the records because it has been over 10 years.. (Ah, but I feel like the straight silicone goes all the way to the nasal tip. Is there anyone here who had only silicone inserted up to the nasal tip without having the nasal tip touched??)
Anyway, it’s not like I have any major side effects right now, but I dislike the foreign-body sensation of having something inside my body, and I also hate getting anxious whenever it turns even slightly red or seems like something has changed. There is also some silicone show-through
So I’m planning to have it removed, but I’m getting really worried.. For now, I’m considering four clinics: ㅅㅇ, ㅍㄹㅁ, ㄱㅇㅅ, and ㅅㅅㅇ.
From what I’ve found so far:
1. ㅅㅇ The doctor seems confident and trustworthy, but I think I saw about two posts saying that if a step-off develops, they suggested putting in filler(?). This place seems to have the longest wait for consultation appointments.
2. ㄱㅇㅅ The doctor has a lot of experience and definitely feels specialized in noses, but the price range is relatively high. Also, surprisingly, I haven’t seen many reviews or posts saying people are considering surgery here.
3. ㅍㄹㅁ People say the doctor is very confident..! But from what I’ve heard, there may be some promotional posts, so I think that needs to be verified. I searched through community posts all the way back to the 2010s, and there were quite a lot of people who had it done at ㅍㄹㅁ.
4. ㅅㅅㅇ I saw posts saying the doctor seemed a bit low-energy and sometimes unfriendly? But apparently they explain questions and different situations well in a conservative way. I think I gained some trust after reading the blog.
I also looked at ㅊㅁ, but I passed on that one because there were some posts saying they were advised to have rhinitis surgery even though they didn’t have rhinitis, plus a method of filling in any step-off with something if it developed!
Of course, I need to get consultations at all of them, and everyone’s condition is different, but if anyone knows of any seriously bad reviews about these clinics, please share Clinic recommendations are welcome too!
And the things I’m most worried about after removal seem to be a step-off, a square-looking nasal bridge (because the bridge was shaved down a lot during the previous surgery), and the nasal tip becoming flat or upturned. I’d also like to hear from people here who have actually had removal.
