I had surgery at a hospital in Sinsa that is well known for facial contouring. On the day of surgery, I had a problem where one eye would not close, but because the nurse and doctor irresponsibly said it would come back with time, I only started responding to it from the next day. Even now, a year and a half after surgery, the nerve has not recovered, and problems like asymmetry have not improved at all. Rather, recently the synkinesis has become worse. When I close my eye, the corner of my mouth moves with it, and when I use my mouth, the muscles around my eye get pulled together.. This kind of nerve regeneration error is continuing.
It has already been over a year since I started seeing a professor at a famous university hospital specializing in nerve paralysis, and I even had inpatient treatment, but instead of getting better, according to the professor, there is a high possibility of trigeminal nerve damage, and to reduce this additionally developed synkinesis, I will ultimately need treatment, whether a procedure or surgery.
At first I also thought it would get better with time, but even after a year and a half there has not been even the slightest improvement, and the symptoms are actually progressing more. I judge this to be a surgical complication.
If anyone has had a similar experience to me, or has actually received treatment related to synkinesis, such as Botox/revision surgery/physical rehabilitation, please share your opinions.
The hospital is not providing any support other than covering medical expenses. I think I will file a lawsuit soon. And anyone considering this surgery, please make sure you know that nerve damage can really happen, and once it happens, recovery is not easy.
