I had lower lateral canthoplasty in the summer of 2022 at that famous place known for tearing the eyes open extremely aggressively, and recently, in the winter of 2025, I had lateral canthoplasty restoration.
What I liked at first after the lower lateral canthoplasty: 1. My eyes looked softer (I used to always hear that I looked cat-like or fierce, but for the first time in my life, someone said I looked like a rabbit.. ) 2. My eyes became much bigger than before 3. They looked pretty from the front at a distance / photos taken from the front came out well
There were way, way more bad points. 1. The recovery period was quite long from right after surgery I lived with scars for almost over a year Even more than 2 years after surgery, it was noticeable if I had bare eyes + When I drank alcohol, the scar area got super red, so I heard “what’s wrong with your eyes?” about 1,000,000 times
2. From the front, they looked soft and okay, but the side view was the worst I started avoiding showing people my side profile and avoiding taking photos (This was the decisive reason I got the restoration surgery)
3. If you looked closely at my eyes, the shape at the ends wasn’t even like a ㄷ shape; it was almost like they had been crushed.. it was awful
4. My pupils stayed the same, but only the eye opening got bigger, so my pupils looked freaking tiny Scleral show on all four sides was totally possible..

It’s been a little over a month now, and honestly, I do miss my previous rabbit-like eyes. I can really feel the difference when doing makeup too..
But if you asked me to go back to my previous eyes, I wouldn’t I’m pretty satisfied with my eyes now too And the most important point is!! I know my own face so well Even tiny differences feel huge to me, but other people really don’t notice at all lolololol
I took a week off and got the restoration done, and my coworkers only said, “Your eyes look a bit red today?” That was about it If I didn’t tell them I had surgery, nobody knew..
Honestly, I think a lot of people hesitating over lateral canthoplasty restoration are worried their eyes will get smaller or their outer corners will go back up
Really honestly!!! Eyes do get smaller (o) The outer corners do go back up (o) But it doesn’t look very noticeable to other people (o) That’s my conclusion
If you’re still looking into restoration because of side effects from lateral canthoplasty, I hope this post helps I also hope people looking into lower lateral canthoplasty at that clinic see this.. I know because I had the surgery myself What I lost for a brief moment of satisfaction was too big The cost of restoration is more than 2x, and the scars still remain
