Eye revision surgery - Sinsa ㅂㅆㅇ* Plastic Surgery (the one with an alphabet name)

Is the surgery really not the problem, and are my eyes the problem? About 12 years ago, I had natural-adhesion double eyelid surgery at Gangnam ㄱㄹ* Plastic Surgery. Because my eyelid skin is thick, the doctor recommended an incisional method, but because of my stubbornness, I did it with the natural-adhesion method. I remember the major swelling lasted quite a long time back then. About 1 year..... After 10 years, one side completely came undone, but since I did what the doctor had advised against, I don’t have a big complaint. Anyway, so about 2 years ago, I had surgery with the incisional method at Sinsa ㅂㅆㅇ* Plastic Surgery (the one with an alphabet name). The doctor was very confident, and I decided to get surgery without any doubt. On the day of surgery, right before surgery, after I washed my face, my eye asymmetry got worse. I got onto the operating table worried, and whether the doctor’s nerves were on edge or not, because my eyes were stinging and I couldn’t open them well, he snapped at me? Saying, “Damn it, I told you to open your eyes.” He didn’t actually curse outright, but the tone made me feel like I had been cursed at. I felt awful, but I was already on the operating table, and anyway he was the person who would be operating on my eyes, so I just held it in. After the surgery ended, he said that because my eyes were very asymmetrical, he had operated on them in different sizes to match the sizes, saying it very confidently. So I thought that was what happened, but when I came in to check the next progress, the nurse removed the protective bandage that had been placed on my eyelid, then told me to wait a moment and called the doctor. The doctor checked my eyes and said I needed to have surgery again immediately. Only then did I look directly in the mirror, and as the eye asymmetry that had temporarily been corrected came back, the fact that he had said he made the two sides different sizes during surgery showed up as uneven eyes. My left eye was twice the size of my right eye. I truly thought I would faint when I saw myself in the mirror. Then, not even in an operating room but in a treatment room, he laid out just a few surgical instruments, personally removed the stitches from my left eye, then said he had another surgery right away so he couldn’t do it, and that another doctor who had been watching from the side would do it instead, and then he disappeared. That person had been there during the surgical consultation too, and also during the surgery, and seemed to be in a learning position (I wasn’t under sleep anesthesia, so I heard all the conversations). Anyway, that person re-sutured it... and I went home. As the swelling went down, I could see that the suture line was uneven. When I told the doctor that my eyes seemed asymmetrical, he said they weren’t, so I thought maybe it was because of swelling and accepted that. But even now, about 2 years later, they are severely uneven. The height and curved line are completely different eyes. And the biggest problem is that they still look like eyes only a few months after surgery. Everyone I meet says, “You had surgery, right? It must not have been long? The swelling still needs to go down more.” People I’m really close to, who speak without filtering, say, “You need to redo the surgery. Your eyes look strange. If you get double eyelids, your eyes should look clearer or bigger, but your eyes have become smaller than before, and it looks like lines were drawn on your eyelids. You look sleepy and strange.” So because I had to go abroad, I went to the hospital intending to get surgery again right before leaving. The doctor said, “What exactly looks strange? The surgery went well. The swelling has all gone down well too. It’s because your eyelid skin is thick. No doctor can fix that. You asked me not to make it too small so the line would show a little, so that’s what I did. If you go to the UK, no one will look at those eyes and say they’re thick or strange. There isn’t a single person in the world whose eyes aren’t uneven to this degree. If you come back in 2 years and have surgery to lift your eyelids, your eyes will look clearer.” I was speechless at that mindset, and I didn’t want to have surgery again from that person, so I just laughed awkwardly and left. He was not at a level where words could get through at all. I know doctors are in a money-making business, but did he really sell off too much of his conscience? I asked him not to make the double eyelids so thin that they would look buried; who asked him to make me look like someone who just had surgery? When I had the previous surgery, the swelling took about a year to go down, but after that, the line and thickness were natural. As if having someone else perform the surgery wasn’t enough, he said it as if everyone has uneven eyes, and that if I go abroad, they won’t be thick eyes, haha. It’s not only a problem of thickness. There is none of the clearer-looking effect that should be a basic effect of double eyelid surgery, they look smaller than my eyes before surgery, and it looks like lines were drawn on them. Even to me. I look sleepy. My eyes don’t open well, so it’s hard to put in contact lenses too. I don’t have enough time, so I can’t have surgery again immediately, but even to me they look so strange, and everyone who sees me stares and says they look strange. Only the doctor and staff at the hospital that did the surgery act like nothing is wrong. Of course, there are people around me who had good results there. That’s why I went through an acquaintance’s recommendation. But seeing the absurd things during the surgical process, and the way they respond when something goes wrong with the eyes, it is not a hospital that is good or handles problems well. Please think carefully about the possibility that a problem could occur with your own eyes too, and then decide on a hospital. The hospital charged a lot because it was revision surgery, and because they left me like this, I think I will have to spend time and money to have surgery again.
