I’m 7 years post-op from septal cartilage nasal tip surgery, and after going to an ENT, I found a thread extending from the entrance of my right nostril on the columella side, bent into an oval shape. When the director gently pulled on it, my nasal tip tugged. I’m honestly flustered.. The ENT doctor said this thread is supposed to be inside, that it appears to be a nylon thread, and that if it’s left alone, the skin tissue around the thread could develop problems and a lot of scabbing could form inside, so he recommends removal. It’s probably a suture that tied the septal cartilage, but removing one should be okay, right...? I’m dumbfounded as to why this is outside..^^ Ha, I’m worried that if it’s removed, the force tying the septal cartilage may weaken and side effects could occur, like the nasal tip gradually drooping or the nose spreading.... Has anyone experienced the same thing as me?
