Um... I had surgery in January 2016, so by calendar years this year is my 7th year. Back then, they recommended the buried-suture method and epicanthoplasty, so I just booked right away and had the surgery. I think the fine swelling lasted more than a year.. It seems it only became really natural and fully settled after about 2 years. It’s been more than 6 full years now, and my double eyelid is still very strong(?) and I think the epicanthoplasty also turned out nicely, so I’m satisfied. But the side effect? is that eye discharge forms often and is easily visible, so I always have to remove it. Friends regularly say my double eyelids look natural a lot! When I come out as having had double eyelid surgery to people meeting me for the first time, it’s natural enough that they say, huh, you had double eyelid surgery?
