Review of Consultation and Surgery for 2-Part Facial Contouring + Nose at a Large Hospital

It’s been less than 2 weeks since I had facial contouring and nose surgery. First of all, the surgery seems roughly successful, but the swelling is so abundant that honestly I can’t really tell about the contouring yet haha First, the consultation review: The hospital is a large major hospital between Gangnam and Yeoksam Station. The one with Starbucks on the first floor. As everyone knows, it’s large and the building is flashy, but there are several doctors, and if you want consultations with several doctors, the wait is long. Since I was seeing both nose and contouring, the waiting time in between was even longer…… I sat alone in the consultation room, read all 6 review booklets in front of me, and still had time left, so I played around with the skull and breast implant samples. Right around when I thought, hmm, this is so boring, the doctor came in. The consultation wasn’t that long. The facial contouring director was very straightforward… a busy man lol. He didn’t pressure me, but it didn’t feel like he looked very thoroughly while reviewing the CT. He’s famous, but I recommend preparing your questions well. Otherwise, the director leaves at the speed of the wind. For the nose doctors, I saw two famous ones. One was really underwhelming, regardless of the pretty noses I’d seen in reviews here and there or the doctor’s skill, to the point that I felt he was rather rude. (I work with university hospital doctors, so I’m very sensitive to this kind of thing, and regardless of age or position, I have no respect for people who use casual speech.) He didn’t even really look at my nose CT. Whenever I asked anything, he told me to talk to the consultant, so I gave up on him. The other doctor examined my nose well, checked things like how deviated my nose was and how much material there might be, confirmed all the other surgeries I wanted, and consulted very thoroughly. What the doctor saw and what I saw were a bit different, but this was a case where I trusted the expert opinion and took a gamble. Surgery review: After the consultation, I decided on surgery and had it very quickly. Before surgery there were consultations with the doctors. The nose doctor sketched quickly, and the facial contouring doctor didn’t do anything, just said a couple of words and left; I wondered if this was how it usually is, or if he didn’t draw because he’d have to open it up and see anyway, but he said to give the photos I brought to the desk and he’d go in. So I went to the desk, connected to Wi-Fi, and was about to send the photos to the desk, when suddenly they said I had to go, and I was taken up to the operating room in a rush. I told the desk staff, “I need to show these upstairs…” but they cut me off immediately and said, “You can’t take them in.” I was annoyed, but I was too disoriented to do anything about it, so before I knew it I was lying in the operating room, and there was a doctor who introduced himself as the anesthesiologist. I didn’t see either of the two operating doctors in the operating room, and I was put under general anesthesia right away. It felt extremely unsettling…. Since there wasn’t even a 5-minute gap between handing my phone to the desk and lying in the operating room, there was no time to talk about photos or anything else. When I woke up from anesthesia, the photos suddenly came to mind. Even while out of it, I fully woke up from anxiety, wondering whether they had done the surgery based on the consultation even though there were no photos and no design…. Anyway, I was sitting dazed in the recovery room and then went to a private inpatient room, and my throat started hurting and so on. From then on, it was war. Headache and couldn’t breathe. Hmm, from here I’ll write part 2 again. Good points: The examination devices, equipment, and system are organized The consultant was kind Many doctors = you can consult other doctors even for the same area The nurses who provide aftercare are the best, so kind Bad points: The staff…….. ㅡㅡ Since it’s a large hospital where people work in a hectic way, prepare properly for what you want and what questions you have before consultation, and if you’re having surgery, print out the photos you want…. Otherwise, like me, you’ll end up going through bone-shaving surgery while feeling unsettled Conclusion: I don’t know the progress yet. The swelling is so abundant that I can’t even see my face shape, and my nose looks like Avatar. If the result comes out well, it’ll be okay, but rather than saying the hospital is bad, it’s just a hectic place, so I hope you prepare well on your own before consultation and surgery.
