I can only write breast surgery reviews once every 60 days... so I’m jotting this down here I thought about waiting the full 60 days, but for people like me who go back and forth on breast-surgery forums or cosmetic surgery cafes every single day from the moment they wake up until they fall asleep at night, before surgery, I’m going to share my review
And there seem to be fewer people doing small sizes like mine It feels like there are a bit more these days, but I hope this helps anyone who needs it!
I was really grateful to the people who wrote detailed reviews!!! So, feeling like I should give back as much as I received(?), I want to share my breast augmentation diary.
I’ll go through it as detailed as possible, from the consultation to the day before surgery, and from post-op day 1 through week 2. For reference, the day of surgery and around week 2 are when I talk the most My specs are below. I wrote them out as detailed as possible in case it helps anyone![Specs]Early 30s / Mentor Smooth, 250cc on both sides / armpit incision / subfascial / starting point full 70A -> now measured as 65D ~ 70C Breast width: 11.7 cm / nipple distance: maybe 19 cm? I think that’s what they said? Not exact Weight: 49~51 kg before surgery, after surgery (still the same so far) Chest circumference: 70 cm -> 67 cm??? Bust circumference: 79 cm -> 83 cm *My chest circumference may have gotten smaller because I’ve been wearing a compression bra so tightly; plus my weight and bust fluctuate a lot before and after my period[Process up to surgery] I’d wanted breast augmentation for about 2 years, but it just kind of drifted along, and then in early July I suddenly got obsessed with it. First consultation at the hospital where I had surgery now (very satisfied) > consultation at another large hospital (slightly disappointed) > second consultation at the hospital where I had surgery now (made a reservation) Early September tests > Mid-September surgery completed!!![Surgery day] - This is the longest part Weight: 49.9 kg fasting in the morning, 51.5 kg in the evening after surgery I went to the hospital one hour before surgery, paid the remaining balance, and being bold-headed me, I went alone without a guardian; still, I was scared After changing clothes, I had the final discussion with the doctor about the surgical method and size negotiation(?), then went up to the operating room, washed my face, and went straight in! I don’t know why, but why is the operating room always so cold...? Just as I was thinking that, they covered me with a thick, cozy blanket Nice The general anesthesia injection stung a bit! And then, huh, when will I fall asleep...? and I immediately slept I woke up in the recovery room. I couldn’t see the time and didn’t ask, so I don’t know. Surprisingly, it didn’t hurt at all; (Surgery was at 1:00, and when I went to the pharmacy it was around 5:30) After about 5 minutes, I started feeling a bit cold, and they immediately caught it and turned on a heater inside the blanket... nice... Anyway, I wasn’t in pain. Maybe the anesthesia just hadn’t worn off yet? I was a little dazed, and they kept telling me to breathe out and open my eyes, so I opened them wide and did huh-puh, huh-puh About 20 minutes later, the doctor personally came and said the surgery had gone well and explained various precautions, and I was already wearing the compression bra They also put on the upper band and sports bra for me themselves and explained things again. They said the size would probably come out as full B to a decent C I got an IV pain blocker for about 30 to 40 minutes, then the doctor came down again to check me, I received the guarantee certificate and final precautions, and with the discharge prescription I went straight to get my meds The medications, including painkillers (Tylenol) and a swelling-reducing medicine (Danggui Sosan? granules for one week), cost about 50,000 to 60,000 won For reference, the hospital gave me one scar ointment and two compression bras in total, including a spare one, so I didn’t buy any ointment I asked about other scar ointments, and they said that if I came in on time for follow-ups and managed it as instructed, just using the ointment or patches properly would be enough They recommended buying a stretch-mark cream sold by the hospital, but I didn’t buy it and instead came home and bought Illiyoon from B Mart on sale My hospital and home are close, so I took the subway home, but maybe because of the mask, or because there were lots of people, or because of the shaking, my stomach suddenly got very upset, a headache hit me hard, and I felt like vomiting, so I called the hospital emergency desk right away, and they said I needed to breathe deeply and blow out a lot of air Fortunately, I got off right away, took deep breaths, and once I took off my mask I felt better. As soon as I got home, I collapsed and slept for an hour Right after waking up, I didn’t have trouble raising my arms or anything, but I tried not to move my arms much or do any movements that would strain me Also, it seemed like I didn’t need a triangle pillow... By the time I’m writing this at week 2, I’m thinking, um... I probably didn’t need one, so I’m glad I didn’t buy it Maybe because I have abs... just slightly holding myself up and getting up, or sliding one leg out to the side and getting up, wasn’t hard? Maybe the doctor did such a good job, or maybe I’m just a bit tough, but I didn’t buy any of the preparation items and I didn’t feel uncomfortable at all (From here on, I’ll go roughly by the memo I wrote that day)[Day 1] The three-part combo of sports bra + compression bra + upper band is so suffocating I’m dying Actually, it felt so suffocating that I walked for more than 30 minutes / I sweated, so I went to the salon and washed my hair [Day 2] Can I walk around okay? I did another 30-minute lap around the neighborhood Still, the three-piece torture combo is too suffocating; and if I take off the bra and look, it feels like it’ll burst [Day 3] Went to work. I mean... if I don’t overdo it, it’s manageable... Also, showering is possible, but like a loser with my shoulders hunched forward; And strangely, I had no bruising at all.. From the nipples downward, I had almost no sensation at all 흑흑 [Days 4-5] I was too busy with work to notice, nothing special happened But around this time the swelling dropped a lot. Until day 3, the upper chest was so high I thought I’d go crazy [Day 8] - First hospital visit after surgery Looks like I was doing okay, since I wrote my diary so sporadically. But how can it hurt at all??? Was I also one of the lucky ones for pain relief? First post-op checkup! They said everything looks so good and congratulated me Walking, the StairMaster, and stretching are all okay as long as I don’t overdo it During the day: compression bra + sports bra, at night: sports bra only, and at home: cotton T-shirt + compression bra only The point is not to let it sag during the day, and not let it spread out at night They said there’s no need to make it too uncomfortable Apply ointment morning and evening, and keep moisturizing They said they’d give me a patch-type product about a month later Oh, and that day I met a friend, and I was wearing something like a windbreaker, so they had no idea I’d had surgery and were like, huh? Then I casually showed them the photo of me taking it off, and they said they were jealous~~~~ totally shocked [Day 12] - About 2 weeks in Until now, I had no bruising and no pain in the breasts themselves, but the armpit incision started swelling, and bio-bonding (lumpy hardness) appeared under the armpit area, which felt very sensitive and painful By then, when I raised my arms, it felt like the incision might tear, so I couldn’t lift them Also, around then, as nipple sensation started to return, all the numb parts became super sensitive ㅡ_ㅡ Before, the three-piece torture combo + swelling made the upper chest too obvious But now that the upper swelling has gone down, from the outside it looks like I’m just wearing thick clothes? Of course, if I take them off, it’s obviously noticeable The upper fullness is still strong (to my eyes), and it’s very plump and hard... +++ And a rebellious behind-the-scenes story +++ This is a secret from the doctor, but since one week after surgery I’d actually been secretly doing very light lower-body exercise little by little, about once or twice a week.. sorry I lied to the doctor and said I’d been doing a lot of walking and StairMaster But they still said the progress was good, so whatever ^^ (Still, please rest safely everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I rested and slept a lot in proportion to how much I moved!!!! I’m worried someone will read this and do it wrong) Also, up to week 2, I wore a different high-support sports bra exactly once, and another time I wore a wire-free bra for a date, and then it somehow felt like it got hard again what a mess [Day 15] - Second hospital visit after surgery They said recovery and settling in are in top-tier condition. The doctor seemed even happier Lower-body exercise seems like it would be okay to do right away now (barbell work using only the legs, not the upper body) They also said stretches that open up the upper body are very good When I asked about the dull pain in the armpit and chest that I’d been feeling all day more than before (like a constant cramp + occasional stinging!), they said it was actually sensation returning, so it’s normal and a better response They also said the bio-bonding would get better this week, and it really did improve a little! There’s still some left, but I’ll check again at the next visit (I feel like the saying that scars and similar aftereffects require a certain amount of indifference is true) When I asked why the scar was already getting darker, they said it varies depending on a person’s skin tone, and that’s also within the normal range, and they’ll manage it later with ointment and laser treatment, so don’t worry The cleavage has gotten a little closer than in week 1, and the feel is very good too (if I bring them together now, they touch a little. Last week they didn’t touch) They said as the upper swelling went down, the side breast naturally showed more too (they explained it while looking at photos, but I wasn’t wearing my glasses that day so I couldn’t see, so I just nodded and said ohhh yes yes) And the long-awaited size measurement As I already wrote above in my specs... I had hoped for around a decent C, but it came out as 65D ~ 70C; when the doctor said congratulations! I was flustered But funny enough, I also felt happy It doesn’t look that big externally, but D in size??? Me??? That kind of feeling Until the next visit, they told me to keep wearing the same combo of compression bra + sports bra during the day and sports bra only at night, and said I can start wearing a V-fit from today! But I’m too lazy to go buy one, so I’m planning to get one when I have time soon... [Routine up to week 2] After one week, I really didn’t skip scar ointment even once and kept applying it morning and evening, and I had some Contratubex patches left at home, so I put ointment on at night and then stuck on a patch right before bed But honestly, the scar progress is just so-so and not really a time I’m especially happy with ^^ Please don’t get any worse!! Also, I’ve been applying stretch-mark cream from day one all the way to my armpits every day, and I’ve been taking the prescribed meds faithfully. Danggui Sosan + aerobic exercise seems to help with reducing swelling. But I’m just someone who doesn’t swell much to begin with. I don’t really puff up easily. [Wrap-up] I wrote this pretty diligently, but there may still be parts that are insufficient... or maybe I’m just too much of a chatterbox, and some people may get tired reading it... Either way, I hope this helps those who need it^___^ If you have questions, leave them in the comments and I’ll answer as much as I can!!! For the surgery-day photo that looked like it might burst, please refer to my previous post Oh, but now that I’ve had the augmentation, does my nipple look especially large because of the swelling?.. Or was it always this big?..
