Every time I took photos, my cheekbones and jaw looked especially prominent. I also kept feeling like my face looked somewhat blunt overall. I thought the empty space on the face influenced the impression more than the facial features themselves, so I started considering surgery because I wanted to refine that space with facial contouring and make my face look even a little smaller than before.
For consultations, I went around comparing several clinics, focusing on the criteria that people in communities often consider important, such as whether an anesthesiologist is on site, CCTV, and the director’s aesthetic sense. Among them, the consultation with Dr. Park Joon-gyu felt a bit different because he was the only one who mentioned overbite and structurally explained why my chin looked more protruding. It was also memorable when he said it was not about blindly shaving down a lot of bone, but about changing the facial shadows by shifting the shadow lines.
Among the clinics I consulted with, I felt that the face shape I was aiming for and the director’s aesthetic sense matched the best, and the fact that real-time CCTV viewing was possible during surgery was also one of the major reasons I chose the clinic.
In the early stage after surgery, there was a lot of swelling and quite a bit of bruising, but now that I’m two months post-op, much of the swelling has gone down. The doctor said it will still go down more, so I’m looking forward to further changes.
