Before and afterThis is my review about a month after having double eyelid surgery at Ewabaek! Since it was my first surgery, I went to consultations at several places, and I decided on Ewabaek because the consultant was kind, the director had a long career, and there was no excessive pressure. I didn’t do anything else, only the buried-suture method! Also, other hospitals usually use sleep anesthesia as well, but Ewabaek only uses local anesthesia, so I didn’t have to fast and I liked that there was no worry about anesthesia accidents. During the consultation, the consultant also showed me the anesthesia needle, and said it was very thin so there was no need to be scared.
On the day of surgery, it would be a lie to say the local anesthesia didn’t hurt, but it was a tolerable pain! I heard that if you tense your eyes during surgery, swelling and bruising get worse, so I tried to relax as much as possible. Since I only had local anesthesia, it was easier to consciously avoid tensing up. After the anesthesia, it didn’t hurt at all. I also liked that they kept having me open my eyes in between and carefully adjusted the line. They gave me something to hold in my hand during surgery, and there was almost no swelling afterward.
After surgery, they gave me an ice/heat pack, a paper with instructions, etc. I revisited the next day for disinfection and a swelling laser treatment, and 3 days later I went to have the stitches removed. I thought it would sting a lot, but they did it well so it didn’t hurt. That day, I also received the swelling laser treatment, and the director checked me once. Even before removing the stitches, the swelling wasn’t severe, but after removal, it was barely noticeable even with bare eyes and looked natural. Before surgery, my eyelid drooping and eyelashes poking my eyes had been getting worse, but they’ve all improved, so I’m happy!
