I lived with an ectopic lacrimal gland for over 30 years, and it was always a complex for me. It made my eyes look duller and made my dark circles stand out more, so I decided to have surgery. There are many eye plastic surgery clinics, but there weren’t any plastic surgery clinics that performed ectopic lacrimal gland removal. I went around for consultations at some famous places like ㅇㅇㅂ, ㅂㄴㄴ, ㅈㅇㅈ, ㄷㅇㅇ, and ㅌㅌㅇ, but they said they couldn’t do it, and the only place that had surgical cases was Siseon Plastic Surgery. Even when I actually had the consultation, I was half worried (what if it gets worse instead?) and half hopeful (let’s try getting rid of it with this opportunity), but I decided because I didn’t want to keep getting stressed. I had surgery on October 20, 2025, with upper epicanthoplasty on both sides and medial epicanthoplasty on the right side (ectopic lacrimal gland removal). (I think the surgery took about 30 minutes.) The director was also very straightforward and said, “I’ll do it the way you want~ Don’t worry~” and started right away... (He has so much experience that it seemed like this level of procedure didn’t even require much thought.) Looking back now, about 3 months later, I’m really glad I had the surgery, and the scar is almost healed, fading more as time passes. The scar was somewhat noticeably visible only for 1 to 2 weeks after surgery, and after that, time is the medicine. My left eye, which only had upper epicanthoplasty, showed no signs at all after just 1 week. (If you’re only getting upper epicanthoplasty, I don’t think you need to worry at all.) Anyway, if you’re deliberating about the same thing as me, you’ll only keep stressing, so I recommend getting it done soon.
