Mate review

I had an incision double-eyelid surgery and epicanthoplasty in 2001 when I was in middle school, but since it was a surgery I had as a teenager, the doctor kept the line fairly conservative, and because it was done at a neighborhood clinic, a small epicanthoplasty scar remained. Still, it looked so natural that no one would have known unless I said something, and I lived without any major complaints until now. But in my late 30s, my face started to sag a bit and I gained some weight, so my eyes no longer seemed as clear and defined as before. So I decided to have revision surgery and consulted about five clinics. When choosing a clinic, what mattered to me was, 1. Specialization in eye revision surgery 2. Rating of 4.0 or higher on this community 3. A small clinic with a single lead surgeon on site 4. Review photos that did not look overly artificial Those four things. I thought it would probably turn out well anywhere, but after actually going to consultations, the costs and the recommended surgical methods were quite different from clinic to clinic. Some places said I needed to restore the epicanthoplasty first and then do it again, some said that although it was not true ptosis, I would need a forehead lift to get the line I wanted, and others recommended lateral and lower canthoplasty as well. But I am still not very dissatisfied now and only wanted eyes that look a little sharper and more refreshing, so I ultimately chose Mate Plastic Surgery. Mate was the only one of the five places I visited that said it could be done with natural adhesion alone, and although they are famous for epicanthoplasty restoration, they said that in my case there was no need to restore it unless the scar was truly bothersome. They also did not recommend lateral or lower canthoplasty, saying it would not have much effect given the structure of my eye bones, so they recommended only double-eyelid revision with natural adhesion. That actually made me trust them more. The consultation manager also had a very natural face, and while I was waiting for the consultation, middle-aged women would come in without appointments and get consultations before leaving. It did not feel like people were coming because of app ads, but more like they were really coming through word of mouth. They marked the double-eyelid line with just a toothpick instead of a special instrument, and honestly I liked that down-to-earth vibe even more lol Many reviews said the surgeon looked tired, and he really did look tired. So I booked the surgery for the first morning slot. Even during the consultation on the day of surgery, he seriously said, with a tired face, that he would do his very best and take good care of me, and strangely enough it felt sincere. Before surgery, he honestly explained the downsides too, such as, "the epicanthoplasty scar may become more visible," "because of asymmetry in the position of the eyeballs, the asymmetry of eyeliner tattooing may stand out more," and "the old incision line may remain, which could create a double fold on the outer side." That helped me adjust my expectations for revision surgery. It had been 24 years since I got double eyelids again, and maybe because techniques have improved a lot in the meantime, they even used sleep anesthesia for me (when I was young, they went straight in with local anesthesia, and I still remember how much it hurt), and I had almost no bruising or swelling, so on the day of surgery I wore glasses, took the bus home, went shopping, and even walked about 15,000 steps. The photo is from the day after surgery. If I do not close my eyes, I do not even look like someone who had surgery yesterday, and the line seems to have come out nicely as the in-out line I wanted. They said this was the maximum height possible with natural adhesion, and even now that it is swollen, I like it, so I hope it does not go down much more. I hope it did not swell too much haha I would recommend this place to people who want natural results and want to hear honestly about which parts might not look good after surgery. It is probably too soon to say for sure until the swelling goes down more, but for now I am very satisfied!
