Since I was young, I had a protruding mouth and a really low nose, and to make matters worse, even my upper lip was thick.... In short, I looked like a female chimpanzeeㅠ,ㅠ;; So when I was in my second year of high school, I got orthodontic treatment, and my protruding mouth and thick lips went in to some extent, but.... that nose!! It really bothered me every time I looked in the mirror. But what truly shocked me was.... I took webcam photos with a friend... and when I saw the side-profile shot... my nose was seriously completely straight... Honestly, you almost never get to see your exact side profile, right? So I didn’t know it was that low.ㅠ.ㅠ After that, for about a year I worked part-time and saved my allowance, and saved about 2.5 million won. Then recently, a friend who collects dolls showed me one of her dolls.... Gasp.... It was so pretty. But maybe because of the complex I’d had all this time.... I kept noticing only that doll’s nose. So I decided to have surgery. This doll is pretty because of its nose.... that’s what I thought^^;; Actually, there was a friend of my dad’s whom we had known since last year, and he ran a plastic surgery clinic in Cheongdam-dong. My dad asked him, “My daughter’s nose is a bit low; could you make it pretty?”... and I remembered that he had said to bring his daughter in once, and he’d give an estimate. So a few days later, I kept begging my dad to take me to him. So last June I met him, and the estimate came out to around 3.1 million won. But since I was his friend’s daughter... and he said it was admirable that I had earned it myself and saved my allowance..... he did it for 2 million won. Wow... I was really, really happy. Actually, this doctor is considered one of the very best for nose surgery in our country.... On top of that, he has written the most papers on nose surgery in our country. So I trusted him. So at the end of June, when vacation started, I finally had the surgery. The surgery itself didn’t hurt at all, but that anesthetic injection.... ugh.... Those who’ve had it will know;; A full-grown 20-year-old woman shed one tear because it hurt;; Still, I held it in. The nurse next to me held my hand tightly~..... The surgery took about an hour and a half to two hours, and when I came out, my nose was wrapped in something like a thick adhesive bandage hardened into a square shape. A week later, the stitches and bandage were removed, and during that time I couldn’t even go outside^^;; When I absolutely had to go out, I wore a mask, but since it was a hot summer it was a bit stuffy. The nurse removed the stitches and bandage for me. Because the doctor had gone briefly to the U.S. again to present a paper^^;; The result now? Oh~~ very, very good^0^ Seriously.... every time I look in the mirror, I feel so happy^^ At first, my nose was leaning slightly to the left, so I was worried, but after a few days it settled firmly right in the center. To get such a good result for such a low price.... I really thought I was lucky. Honestly, I was worried that if it was made too high, it would look obviously operated on... but really, it became a nose that is exactly not too high and not too low, truly <pleasant to look at>. He cut away quite a bit inside my nostrils and from the side tissue, and the doctor said that because I had a lot of flesh on my nose, the nasal bone couldn’t develop properly. My already low nose was also wide to the sides, so it was totally koala-like;; But now I really like my nose. If there are people who are truly very stressed because of their nose.... or people who feel depressed every day but are afraid to get surgery.... I want to tell you to try to be brave.^^ For years, because of my nose, I really cursed myself in the mirror every morning....ㅠ.ㅠ That’s how much my nose was a shackle on my life. But now I truly, truly love my nose.....(Of course, all of this is thanks to my dad having a good friend^-^;;) Oh right, and actually when we went to get the estimate, my dad asked him, “What if she gets double eyelids too?” and he said not to do it, to leave them as they are. He said I look better without double eyelids..... Actually, I don’t really like visible double eyelids either;; So I decided to just leave my eyes alone. Haha...
