I had an incisional double-eyelid surgery at a hospital near my house right after graduating at 19. After the surgery, the bruising was severe and my eyes were so swollen that my older brother called me a monster, and my mom flinched too. Four years later, my right eye came undone, and since you have to be careful with revision surgery, I wore double-eyelid tape for five years. Around that time, a lot of customers at my workplace were getting double-eyelid surgery and nose surgery at a certain clinic. But they looked pretty and the results were good, so I booked that clinic right away. Because my first surgery was such a bad memory, I was really nervous, but at that clinic they didn’t even use sedation, just local anesthesia, and I didn’t feel the surgery at all. I woke up, looked at my eyes, lay back down, then woke up again…
