Before <before surgery> After <after surgery> After <after surgery> It has been about 2 months since I got double eyelid surgery and upper epicanthoplasty from Director Kim Jin-sung at a plastic surgery clinic.
First, through an app, I narrowed it down to 4 clinics I liked and went in person for consultations at all 4 clinics. Director Kim Jin-sung gave me the most honest and lengthy consultation. He did not push anything extra at all. Rather, he told me very honestly that for medial epicanthoplasty, only a very small opening would be needed, so even if I did it, there would hardly be any effect, which made me trust him. Other clinics actually said my eye spacing was wide and talked as if I absolutely had to get medial epicanthoplasty, but this was the only place that measured the distance between my eyes numerically and told me that my current spacing was exactly average, so even if I got medial epicanthoplasty, the effect would not be significant. Also, among the reviews there were quite a lot of eye shapes? that I wanted, so I decided on this clinic!! Oh, and the consultant managers who did the consultation were also very kind!
Then on the day of surgery, it was done under sleep anesthesia followed by local anesthesia, and I think the surgery took a little under an hour. When they administered the sleep anesthesia, it did not particularly hurt, and when I had the surgery while conscious after the local anesthesia, honestly I cannot say there was no pain at all, but it was tolerable. Maybe because I was receiving it while conscious, I was so nervous that even slight pain felt bigger. Still, I think it ended faster than I expected. After surgery, I stayed in the recovery room with an ice pack on for about 30 minutes? Then I listened to the postoperative precautions and went straight home. Until about 2 weeks after double eyelid surgery? I had a severe stinging sensation in my eyes, tears came out periodically, and one side where I had the upper epicanthoplasty hurt a lot every time tears came out, but it gradually recovered, and now that it has been a little over 2 months, there is no pain or discomfort at all! And when the stitches were removed, the pain was similar to during surgery. It is tolerable pain.
Overall, I am satisfied with the line and I think it turned out naturally. More than anything, before surgery, I had slightly droopy eyes and a lot of fat on my upper eyelids, so my eyes looked a bit tired, but with eye fat removal and the incisional procedure, that has completely improved, so I am very satisfied! I am really looking forward to how it will look when the swelling goes down even more than now☺️
