My surgery was originally scheduled for the 20th, but I got a call saying one surgery slot had been canceled... so I rescheduled for today, the 18th, at 11 a.m. I currently live in Seoul, but I came down to Daegu for vacation and also to have the surgery. lol I had been worried because I didn’t have much time, so I thought the timing worked out well. When I went to the hospital for the surgery, lay down on the sheet, had my whole face wiped with disinfectant, my arms tied down (-_-;;), and gauze cloths and things placed over me, I was trembling so much... the heart monitor was clunking away...; The light came on and they said, “It will sting,” as they gave the anesthetic injection... it felt like something was going in deeply; I teared up a bit; Right after that, I smelled burning flesh and it felt a bit hot. I also felt something passing by while my eye was being pressed... Honestly, it hurt. I don’t know if the anesthesia didn’t work properly, but I felt the sharp stabbing sensation when the skin was pierced, and the scraping feeling of the skin being pulled upward when the thread was pulled. That’s not supposed to happen, but in that moment it hurt so much that I moved my body;; so the doctor was very startled during the surgery;; It happened after the skin had been cauterized, so the right eye, which had been operated on first, started bleeding and swelling during the surgery... so the doctor seemed very troubled;; In the end, they had to lift the eyelid because it was swollen;; and continue the surgery;; They said I had ptosis, so they removed it first.. but every time they cut something, the stinging pain was unbelievably bad. It was so bad that I was crying streams of tears and asked, “Is it normally this painful even with anesthesia?”;; All kinds of thoughts crossed my mind, like “Why did I get this surgery?” and “I’ve ruined my life”... but after hearing the doctor’s command (;;), I got scared, and when they operated on the left eye, it surprisingly ended cleanly and quickly. The only issue was the problematic;; right eye... It seems the eye became so swollen that it was very hard to find the line properly... Even now, my left eye has no swelling at all, but my right eye has blood bruising, black bruising, blood marks, swelling... it’s intense;; Still, the line came out really well, and constitutionally I don’t swell much, so I’m satisfied^^ They recommended that it might be better to get an epicanthoplasty too, but I was scared and didn’t do it. (It was my first surgery ever;; I wanted to do as little as possible.) Even so, the inner corners of my eyes opened up refreshingly as if I’d had an epicanthoplasty, so my mom also said it turned out well...^^ I’m also so grateful to the doctor, who tried to find my line even while untying and redoing the thread several times, even though I wasn’t exactly a cooperative patient(; )..ㅜ.ㅜ As I left, I thanked all the nurses who helped me, saying thank you and I appreciate it^^ I only had inner double eyelids before, but now they show on the outside, so I’m really happy^^ When I take photos, I’ll post them in the photo section too~
