On the day of surgery, I went in, filled out the consent form, and dozed off for a bit in the assigned recovery room. When I woke up, it was time for surgery. I lay down, they inserted an IV needle into my arm, and as soon as the anesthetic went in, my consciousness shut off in about 2 seconds.
