My natural nose was not upturned at all, and it was not an unattractive nose, so I said I did not want anything excessive and just wanted the tip lifted slightly, naturally. But they raised it so sharply and excessively that I could have gone around poking people with my nose, and the cartilage tying was done terribly too, so it became pinched and upturned and it was a whole mess. For my first surgery, I really did not do any in-person consultations and just looked at a few places with lots of reviews on an app and decided right away. The result was a total disaster,, So for the revision, I went to about 8 consultations, though I lost some of the business cards. The clinic where I had the surgery has one director, and it seemed like he only does one surgery a day and also does a lot of contracted noses and revision surgeries. The consultation was the most detailed, and he explained a lot of things, so I trusted him, but when I saw the before-and-after photos, it seemed like his style with costal cartilage was a bit glamorous, so I worried a lot. So about a month after the first consultation, I went for another consultation, and he said he would match what I wanted well and naturally, so I decided to go with him. In the end, I think it turned out naturally and rounded. There is still a lot of swelling at the nasal tip, so it does look a bit bulbous, but I was worried because people said lowering the nostril rim would make it a fist-like nose, though it does not seem that way (this was not cartilage+skin composite graft nostril rim lowering). Now that I am one month post-op, the swelling is going down more each day, and at first my nostrils showed so much that I wondered if the nostril rim lowering had really been done, but from week 2 they gradually came down, and now they have come down a lot. I see many people here posting about being around one week after surgery and saying they think their nose has become upturned or their nostrils show a lot. Unless it is a pinched nose from being raised too excessively, it will all come down, so do not worry too much and wait.
Anyway, my septum was very deviated, and since the director is an ENT specialist, I had septoplasty and inferior turbinate reduction done together. Honestly, my rhinitis was not severe. I did not really have any trouble breathing in daily life, and only when I lay down in the evening to sleep would my nose get a little blocked and breathing become slightly uncomfortable, so I wondered if I really needed to do it. But after doing it, it was a whole new world lol. Even when I lie down in the evening to sleep, my nose is completely open. I also got some reimbursement from my private insurance, so even though it was a revision, the price burden was a bit lower.
I do not like a nose that extends straight in one line, and I prefer something natural even if it is a little uneven, so I did not put in silicone and did nasal tip extension and nostril rim lowering without an implant. I had a slight hump, so he lightly filled only the step between the hump and the nasal tip with ear cartilage. Since my forehead is on the flat side, I said I did not want anything inserted near the glabella. Because there was a possibility that my septal cartilage had been used in the first surgery, he initially recommended costal cartilage, saying I might be very short on cartilage. But I absolutely did not want to use costal cartilage, so I said I did not mind if the height became much lower, that I disliked a glamorous nasal tip and a sharp tip, and that I wanted the nostrils rounded, and then had the surgery. Fortunately, the septum had not been touched during the first surgery, so he used my septal cartilage and the remaining left ear cartilage to make a natural line that suits my face. My nostrils were so severely pinched from the front before that they are still a bit triangular, but I am very satisfied even with this muchㅠ
For about three days after surgery, it hurt as if someone had hit my nose with a hammer, and until about two weeks my nose was blocked and mucus kept running, so I lived with gauze under my nose. Now I am one month post-op, and there is still some swelling. As sensation is gradually coming back, my nasal tip tingles, so I do feel anxious, but when I went for a follow-up recently, they said the inside of my nose had healed well and the functional surgery also went well, so now I am going to relax. I hope everyone here goes to many consultations and succeeds with surgery at a clinic that suits them well.
Oh, and the director is very meticulous, so you have to go to the clinic on days 1, 3, and 7, and you also have to go for follow-ups and disinfection at 2 weeks, 3 weeks, and 1 month lolololol. Every time I went, the director personally checked my progress, so that was really nice.
There have been questions about the clinic for my first surgery, but I received a full refund and signed a consent form saying I would have to pay back 5 times the amount if I posted a review or anything, so I cannot tell youㅠ
