Hmm.. At first, when I thought of surgery, I was so terrified that I kept saying things like I would never let a knife touch my body, no matter what. But since last summer, I’ve had natural-looking double eyelids that keep getting blurry and loosening whenever my eyes swell, so I’ve really struggled. I tried glue, eyelid tape, even fixing them with thread~~~ I honestly tried everything people do, except for glue and things like that -_- Do you know Darkness? I’m sure some of you do. Pretty much everyone in Seoul or the provinces uses it, lol. I tried that too... lol But the adhesive was really strong -_-; I needed to keep my double eyelids in place, but I also hate feeling constricted and wanted them to look natural, so Darkness didn’t suit me~~ lol So in the end I kept applying glue only in the morning and removing it during the day, and my double eyelids became more definedㅎㅎ Sometimes I’d think it wasn’t even as if I had no double eyelids at all.. and I’d laugh at myself for wondering what I was doing to my already existing double eyelids -_- But it was such a hassle... I didn’t even have time in the morning, but I still had to do my double eyelids I was so frustrated and annoyed, too,, My mom had been saying she’d get me double eyelid surgery since last year, putting it off and putting it off, and I finally had it done this summer. She said that since I don’t have much eyelid fat, buried sutures would look more natural than incisional surgery~~~~~~~~~ So I had it done on Thursday the 20th at 2:30. At first I went in thinking it would be no big deal~~~ without much tension.. But what on earth... the moment I saw the operating table, I was terrified Wasn’t that the scary surgery bed I’d only seen in dramas......should I lie down there or not... after worrying over that kind of worry, the moment I lay down...............flash! The surgical light came on and the fear only got stronger....... The nurse started disinfecting my eyes by applying something and rubbing it on...........ah...............when will they do the anesthesia.. I waited about five minutes thinking they should finish the anesthesia quickly.............and then the doctor came over.. So I thought, ah! They’re really doing the anesthesia now.. and tried to tense up.. But then what? Suddenly I was told to close my eyes, and it felt like something was being slowly drawn on them.. "I’m designing the line, so please stay still" .......designing the line.............they even do that before surgery.................. I just asked them to do it along my original double-eyelid line, so I thought they’d just look at that and do it the same way -_-; Maybe after feeling them draw and wipe and draw and wipe about four or five times......just as I was starting to relax, I suddenly heard the doctor say, "Okay, now I’ll do the anesthesia~" .....shiver shiver shiver After hearing my friend say the anesthesia hurts a lot (I have a friend who had incisional surgery on the same day as me) the situation kept getting more and more intense... -_- But........ the counter nurse kept saying it didn’t hurt at all, and my friend’s words kept coming back to me, so I kept worrying about how I should even think about it.....and then something was placed over the area around my eyes -_- Was this that fa... famous surgical mask!! (my imagination was running wild alone) The mask was lightly placed over my face, and after a short while I felt a sting! From that point on I thought, ah~ it really doesn’t hurt as much as dental anesthesia!! and felt relieved. But then at that very moment.................................... "We’re going to flip your eye over, so don’t strain your eyes too much" ...........huh......flip my eye over?!!!!!!!!!!!! The moment I heard not to strain, I relaxed my force and my eye went, aaaah!! I was seized by a strange sensation.(Right... it was flipped--) Yes, but up to here it was fine. What happened after that was the problem......................they anesthetized the eye that had been flipped inside out again........................으어어ㅠㅠit was the death of all deaths I’m especially bad at acting pitiful compared to other people, so maybe that’s why I was even more scared......I was literally drenched in cold sweat. Taking the needle out hurt more. "Aaaah!~~" I screamed without even realizing it. Then I heard the nurse and doctor laughing.......phew.....ㅡㅡ;;;;;; After a lot of twists and turns, the anesthesia was finished. But right after the anesthesia, without even a chance to rest(??), I suddenly heard a sound like something went "thunk" into the area around my eye. I thought it was another needle... but then I realized it wasn’t a needle, it was a real surgical needle.......-_- After that I kept hearing swish swish.. It didn’t hurt, but the feeling of flesh being pierced.. thud. The raw sound of it all.......it was truly the worstㅠㅠwoooh One minute felt like one hour,,,,,,,,,,,, I was trapped in the feeling that maybe an hour had passed just in my imagination.. "Okay~ the right side is done.. the left side remains. See? It’s not as painful as you thought, right?" Not painful, my foot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ........It wasn’t painful, but.....the sound was so scary...ㅠㅠ Hearing that one side was left made the tension rise even more...... Still, compared to the right side, when one minute felt like one hour, the left side didn’t feel like it went by quite that fast either. "Okay! We’re all done." The moment I heard that .....pop up Right after hearing that the surgery was over, even though they still had to disinfect once more afterward, I suddenly tried to get off the bed, and the nurse stopped me. The doctor seemed flustered too......... -_-;;;;;;; Hmm.. I lay back down on the bed and got disinfected again, and this time when they told me to really get up, I bent my waist and stood up.. but what on earth? Maybe because I was so tense with my left hand.....the moment I felt it going numb.. the doctor showed me a mirror, and I was horrified for a second................... What kind of African panda monster is this..... My eyes were swollen as swollen as swollen could be, and my left eye was completely black and bruised.. I thought I was going to faint from shock -_-; I thought they were only going to do the surgery, but I hadn’t thought about swelling or anything after that at all, and only then did I lament my foolishness// Besides, that day was the day right after my period... (I’d heard you bruise more easily if you have surgery on your period).. phewㅠ_ㅠ After that they put on a long bandage.. I got a prescription and a cold pack, and came out of the hospital. As I was leaving, people kept staring at me. Maybe because of the bandage over my eye......-_- Seriously.. if I’d said the wrong thing then, my temper would’ve come out こ,.ごメ If my eyes hadn’t been like that, I might have said something to even a complete stranger staring at me like I was some kind of spectacle..? Even someone as thick-skinned as me really felt burdened by those looks......was it just me? I normally don’t care much about what other people think.....-_-;;;;; ↑ That was yesterday I went to the hospital again today They said I had to get disinfected and treated.. I also went because I thought they might be able to take the bandage off Actually, the bandage covered one-third of my eye, so it was really uncomfortable ㅠㅠㅋㅋ As expected~~ when I went today, they took it off~! Ah.. the world looked so unbelievably beautifulㅋㅋㅋㅋ But....... After they took it off, I saw that the left eye that had been bruised yesterday was a total shock................................my whole eye was bruised. Sigh -_- ㅠㅠIt was all crazy panda-like and deep blue~~~ Only on one side too!! It was the peakㅠㅠ I think my swelling is less than other people’s Even when the doctor showed me a mirror right after the surgery, it wasn’t like a sausage so swollen with water ^^;; It’s the second day now (or technically the third day if it’s past 12?) and because someone said that if you keep practicing opening your eyes wide, the swelling goes down faster, I’m trying hard to do that too Of course I’m also doing cold compresses (though not very often;) Ah.. I should just take my medicine and go to sleepㅠㅠ If only this stupid swelling would go down quickly, I’d have no other wish...... Oh right, there’s a black knot at the end, and at first I didn’t even know, so I thought the two dangling ends at the knot were eyelashes and tried to pull them off. Surely that won’t affect my double eyelids, right???? I... I tugged on it a little... -_-;;;;;;; Come to think of it, they said to come back Monday to remove the stitches. Do they remove stitches for buried sutures too?; Everyone keeps talking about dissolvable thread and stuff.. Maybe this isn’t one of those? (I’m the type who worries about this kind of thing a lot ㅠㅠ) Ah.. anyway, I’m so curious.. How I’ll look once the swelling goes down..ㅠ_ㅠ Was the review too long?ㅠㅠ Still, thank you so much to everyone who read it~~~♡
