I had severely sleepy-looking eyes. Even when I was just staying still in the military, I was once misunderstood as being asleep. That was the trigger, so I searched around the internet and practiced opening my eyes wider while looking in the mirror, but no matter how much I tried, my eyes didn't get bigger. So while searching, I learned about ptosis, and after being discharged, I just went for a consultation at some plastic surgery clinic that looked okay. Back then, I didn't even think of it as cosmetic surgery; I thought of it as surgery to treat a condition called ptosis. I also didn't want aesthetically flashy eyes, so I didn't really research hard and just went as if I were going to a regular hospital...
