Eye Surgery Reviews@eye-review

Because of a doctor who put a knife to my perfectly fine double-eyelid eyes without even telling me, I want to die…

I am a high school student. I had double eyelids since I was very young, but very occasionally, when my eyes got swollen, they would come undone, so I thought I could just have them sutured. During summer vacation last year, I went to a local plastic surgery clinic for a consultation. During the consultation, I only said that my double eyelids sometimes came undone and that I wanted them sutured, but the doctor said that if I did not get epicanthoplasty, the double eyelid shape would look strange, like a complication, and talked as if I absolutely had to do it. I had no intention of getting epicanthoplasty, but I decided to do it. From after that consultation until before the surgery, that doctor never told me at all what surgical method would be used for my double eyelids, and did not say anything at all about side effects or precautions for double eyelid surgery and epicanthoplasty [such as scarring, prolonged swelling, etc.]. He just kept repeating that because he was charging a high fee, he would make it unnoticeable and natural. I had already said I wanted suturing, and since I had no fat, thin skin, and existing double eyelids, I firmly believed that doctor would do the non-incisional buried suture method, so I had the surgery... But he performed a full incision right on my original double eyelid line. It ended up worse than if I had not done anything. I was left with an obvious scar on the double eyelid line I already had. I did not even need epicanthoplasty because my eyes were not small, but I only got scars, my pupils looked smaller, and my impression became fierce. Even though that doctor knew I had to go back to school right away because of supplementary classes, he recommended epicanthoplasty that leaves scars, and performed a full incision that causes long-lasting swelling and leaves scars. Looking back now, it was completely a commercial tactic taking advantage of a student who knew nothing about plastic surgery. He did not tell me he was doing a full incision to make money, and he did not tell me it would leave scars or that swelling would last a long time. He just deceived me by saying he would make it unnoticeable and natural, and ruined perfectly fine eyes. I cannot put my psychological suffering into words. Everyone who knows me said I was much prettier before surgery, and some even said they felt sorry for me because a knife had been put to my perfectly fine double eyelids... I am not trying to brag, but I was considered on the pretty side at school, and I heard countless times that because of the epicanthoplasty, my very image disappeared. From people who did not know me, I also heard countless times that when I close my eyes my double eyelids are so obvious that I look like someone who had eye surgery... Every time that happened, I really desperately wanted to show them my old face... The psychological shock was so severe that I even dropped out of a prestigious high school that is said to be very hard to get into, and I had to suffer from depression and social anxiety. For a year and a half, I have met no one and have lived shut in my room, doing nothing. I really want to die... I even gave up on the college entrance exam... The hospital where I had surgery moved, and when I ask why they did not tell me the surgical method, the side effects, and the precautions, they flatly deny it, saying they do not remember. A doctor who tries to make money even at the cost of ruining one person's life... it was frightening... My perfectly fine eyes, which were large and had double eyelids... he ruined them... I truly feel the impulse to jump off and die right now... I do not know how to resolve this... Please help me....
