Nose Re-Surgery@rhino-redo

They said they’ll reinforce my nasal septum, but what is a dissolvable plate?

I went for a consultation yesterday, and I had my first surgery using my nasal septum. But they said my nasal septum and columella look slightly deviated, so reinforcement is needed, and that they would place something like a dissolvable plate. When I asked what that dissolvable plate was, they only told me it’s a dissolvable plate used in heart surgery and didn’t explain any further. It’s a method I’ve never heard of, so I’m confused again. It’s not Megaderm or AlloDerm, and when I searched, it seems like it might be something like mesh. But they said that when reinforcing the nasal septum, that plate will completely dissolve and disappear after 7-8 months. Then won’t it eventually bend again anyway…
