I Had Jaw Surgery. I'll Post My Review

Hello, it's late at night and I can't sleep. haha It's been about two weeks since surgery. I had it on March 2. It was something I'd made up my mind to do a long time ago, so starting two months before the surgery in early March, I looked into hospitals, went for consultations, chose a hospital, then had X-rays, blood tests, an electrocardiogram, and various other tests, and finally got onto the operating table. After setting the surgery date, I was really scared, and until the day before, I couldn't sleep because I kept worrying whether I should do it, whether I shouldn't, and whether I could just leave it undone. On the first day of surgery, as I woke up from anesthesia, more than any other pain.. as everyone else says too, I had gone up onto the operating table bare-faced, but when I opened my eyes, my whole face was tightly wrapped in bandages, and that pressure was so hard to bear. To the point where I couldn't even think about the blood drain connected inside my mouth.. It was also hard because of what felt like anesthesia, or whatever it was, that kept coming up every time I breathed. I think I lay in the recovery room for about an hour. Even now, when I think about it, that hour was the hardest time.. I couldn't speak properly either. My younger sibling came with me, and even when I wanted to say something, all that came out was uh uh uh uh.. uh-de-de-de-de.. ugh ugh ugh... only sounds like that.. A feeling of not knowing what was going on, and at the same time a little fear.. I remember getting on the operating table around 12:30, and when I was coming to a bit in the recovery room, I heard the announcer on the radio saying it was two o'clock. For jaw or cheekbone surgery, it's as if someone has preset the pain; every day, the intensity and location of the pain you feel are different. On the first day, I thought if only the anesthesia wore off, I could really manage. On the second day, if only the blood drain came out, I could really manage. On the third day, if only the wounds inside my mouth, which were so swollen I could only gulp things down, would calm down a bit, I could manage.. like that... And from the first day, there was the tickling of phlegm stuck in my throat. It felt like I needed to get something off, but no matter how much I coughed, it absolutely wouldn't come out. The nurse told me not to keep coughing, but it felt like if I just spat a little it would come out, so I kept coughing. But they said if you put force into your face trying to spit out phlegm, you swell more and get bruising. Even if phlegm feels stuck, everyone else should just ignore it... Don't even think about spitting it out.. If there is something in your mouth, you can just spit it into tissue. But absolutely do not try to spit out something from inside your throat. On the first night, I barely slept.. I was scared, so whenever it seemed like it might hurt even a little, I kept asking the nurse for painkillers.. The nurse said they don't usually give three painkiller injections in one day.. but she still gave them to me. On the second day too, my lips hurt so much, the area where the blood drain passed throbbed, and even while sleeping my teeth felt sensitive and aching; there were pains like that. After the second night passed, I think it became a bit more manageable.. The blood drain removed on day 3.. This is the highlight.. People who haven't had surgery yet may feel a little scared if I say it like this, but I should say it felt different from the pain on the day of surgery.. Before surgery, I had also heard a lot in a community that removing the blood drain hurts a lot and feels awful, so I had prepared myself. But it didn't betray my expectations. Thankfully, it ends quickly though. And once you've gotten through removing the blood drain.. I think you can say goodbye to most of the pain. Fortunately, I think I had relatively little swelling, even to my own eyes. Of course, on the fifth day when I removed the compression bandage, as soon as I removed it, my face looked terrible.. But I removed it in the morning, and right after removing it I went to the sauna, so it went down a little, then after eating and by evening it went down a little more. After removing the bandage on day 5, by day 7, I felt like my face was starting to show again, and everything above my nose looked fine. There was a little faint bruising beside my mouth and a little faint bruising on my neck, but it wasn't severe. On day 8, I could go around without a mask. When I went to have the stitches removed on day 10, the nurses said there was a little swelling on both cheeks, but at this level, I really had almost no swelling, and I agreed; the swelling went down quickly. As for the effect I had been hoping for... As soon as I removed the bandage, I could feel the frontal effect. Needless to say, the side profile too.. Looking at myself now at 2 weeks, I'm really satisfied even with this much frontal effect.. I had a bit little flesh on my cheeks, so I looked a little poor-looking and older, but with a little swelling in my cheeks and my face becoming slimmer, I look younger. Today I met friends for the first time in a while, and they didn't notice the jaw, but I heard a lot of things like my eyes look bigger and my nose looks higher, so I felt good. Oh.. I had Botox 3 weeks before surgery. My friends all knew I had Botox. So it seems they think the slimmer look is from the Botox effect. I did see a bit of an effect from Botox too. After getting Botox, when I met a friend, my friend said the diagonal lines on my cheeks had reduced and found it fascinating... Maybe because of that, one friend asked, Did you get Botox again? so I said, They say Botox usually reaches peak effect around two months.. maybe it's slowly taking effect. Then everyone nodded.. lol During the pre-surgery consultation too, the consultant said that if I shaved the jaw, my features would look a little more defined. At the time, I didn't really believe it. I thought it was just the usual thing they say, and all I wanted was for this square jaw to disappear so I could see a frontal effect. But now that two weeks have passed after surgery, my features really do look more defined.. One friend even said, Hey, did you get your eyes slit? She said my eyes looked bigger.. This was a somewhat messy review. Writing this late at dawn is making me sleepy.. After some time, if I have time again, I'll leave another review. Everyone preparing for surgery, stay strong. I hope you all finish your surgery safely. That's all.
