My eyes originally had a hidden double eyelid. Even that would become a bigger crease every morning, but it would get crushed by the Mongolian fold - so the back part would form a big double crease, while the front part could not become an outfold or an infold... - and it would go back to normal right away. My hidden crease was also large, and the one on one side that I never had appeared in high school. If I cried a lot the night before, by the next morning the double eyelid would be completely gone. So I thought that if I did the inner and outer canthoplasty - my eye length is only 2.5 cm ;; - I might get a double eyelid. I heard there are actually people like that too... Since the new semester was coming soon, I had planned to just do the canthoplasty and watch the recovery, but because my eyelids sag, the doctor said that even if a crease formed, it would turn into a sausage-like crease anyway - and if it ended up looking like I had had double-eyelid surgery without actually having surgery, it would be a total disaster;;;OTL - soㅠㅠ It seems that because the crease kept appearing and disappearing every morning, my eyelids had the effect of tape eyelids.ㅠㅠ I've never used tape even once, but sob sob... Just recently, a boy who takes lessons from the same teacher as me - he seemed like someone who knew about surgery from the way he talked - even asked me if I had double-eyelid surgery, saying something like that because, with eyes only 2.5 cm long and a hidden crease that disappears completely under eye makeupㅠㅠ, my original crease already had a slightly sausage-like lookㅠㅠ What surprised me even more was that today, the doctor also said, "You originally had surgery, right?" with a suspicious look, and kept touching my eyes all overㅠㅠ So my plan to just do the canthoplasty and think about it later was cancelled, and with only 25 days left until the semester started, I ended up getting a double eyelid too, and by incision!!ㅠㅠ They said the sagging skin meant I absolutely had to do incision. I thought I had a lot of fat in my eyelids, but it turned out it was all because of the sagging skin;; I'm normally the type who gets terrified of pain and needles like crazy, but I went in without really thinking, and they kept slapping my wrists - it hurt a lot;;; It hurt more than the surgery and anesthesiaㅠㅠ seriously amazing! - and they inserted the IV, which was my first one in my life, with a thud;;; The same feeling as when I had blood drawn during a blood donation before, and it hurt the whole time so I thought I was going to die. My whole arm tensed up... At first they drew the design with a pen and told me to choose from three options, but in the end they pushed ahead with the doctor’s choice^^;; Anyway, that’s how it happened. When I asked how many millimeters it was, they said 5 to 7, but since they chose the middle, it must be 6 - they said a big double eyelid wouldn’t suit me; I already had 5 mmㅠㅠ I tried to stop several people from getting surgery, but because of the sagging skin I ended up going through with it in the end. Sigh, sagging skin at 22 years old is bleakㅠㅠ They said that if the sagging skin is removed, it’ll look bigger than the original even if the crease size is the same, so I have to believe thatㅠㅠ And I also had the inner canthoplastyㅠㅠ They said it would be good to open the inner corners by 2.5 to 3 mm - my interpupillary distance was about 3.8, but my face isn’t small;; I thought it might look a bit crowded;; - so I don’t know exactly how much they opened it. I had the surgery at Kim Seong-gi Plastic Surgery in Yeongdeungpo, and they said the stitches from the inner canthoplasty would go in along the lower lash line, so I guess it was a magic inner canthoplasty? They charged 30 more than a regular inner canthoplastyㅠㅠ Still, since it was 80, it’s cheaper than Gangnam^^;; Incision was 120ㅠㅠ They gave me a discount because they know my friend’s father, but together it came to 150ㅠㅠ (My friend had a regular inner canthoplasty and incision for 90ㅠㅠ) I originally live in Gangnam, but I went out of town for the surgery^^;; After they set the whole line and wiped my face thoroughly with something like cotton, they started the surgery. But even though the nurse said it would be sedation anesthesia, I don’t feel like I fell asleep;; My friend also said he woke up while sleeping and didn’t feel the anesthesiaㅠㅠ The local anesthesia was also done while I was fully aware, so that hurtㅠㅠ But it wasn’t as painful as I expected? It was just like an antibiotic injection, except instead of a dull ache, it stung. That’s the difference. Another strange thing was that I definitely didn’t hear the sound of scissors, and I don’t know when they made the incisionㅠㅠ Did I fall asleep without realizing it;; There was a very slight smell of something like burning squid, and when they pulled the thread to move my eyelids, it felt extremely unpleasantㅠㅠ Like the unpleasant throbbing you feel under anesthesia during a root canal... The doctor kept telling me several times, "It doesn’t even hurt, so why do you keep tensing up your body?" At first he was gentle, but as time went on he seemed to get a little angry. Ugh, but I clearly felt like I was getting a root canal for three hours straight, so I felt really bad... My inner canthoplasty and double eyelid felt about equally painful - not painful, but dull and unpleasant - so I didn’t really understand people saying the inner canthoplasty hurts more. After the surgery ended, I lay down in the recovery room for a bit, and my whole body hurt so much. Especially the arm that had the IV and that side of my neck and shoulder - they still ache so muchㅠㅠ Maybe because of the sedation anesthesia, it feels like I went through surgery in a slightly dazed state for three hours. I had heard that sedation anesthesia feels somewhat like being on drugs, so I expected something, but I didn’t feel anything like that at all, and it didn’t even feel like riding an amusement park rideㅠㅠ It feels like I lost out somehow^^;; After everything was done, they said it was closing time and told me to leave quickly, so I rushed out. My mom and grandma were with me... I was going home, and it was around 7:50? Something like that, but there were so many people on the street. My face kept getting bumped, so I just took a taxi. If I had taken the subway, I probably would have bumped into tall people’s shoulders several times;; It came to 17,000 won all the way to my house on the outskirts of Gangnamㅠㅠ I usually never take taxisㅋㅋ They had taped my eyes up so much that my field of vision felt half blocked. I can barely open my eyes wide - the visible part is only about one-third of my usual eyeㅠㅠ my lashes are lifted up, it’s really red, it feels tight, and my tears are all welling up... But the weird thing is, they told me not to do ice compresses - does that mean cold compresses are okay? -, and they didn’t give me anythingㅠㅠ They said they’d remove the tape after a few days tooㅠㅠ It’s really frustrating. I want to take it off right now... They told me to come back tomorrow. I’ll go tomorrow and ask again... I didn’t have anything suitable to apply at home anyway, and they told me not to, so I went up to the rooftop and did some light calisthenics and spinning around for about 30 minutes before coming back in. I bought organic pumpkin juice as usual and have been drinking itㅋ It’s really tasty. I even want to just keep drinking it+ㅁ+ The swelling seems to be above averageㅠㅠ so I’m really upset, but I hope it goes down quickly. I’m becoming a second-year student, so everyone who knows me probably knows already - hiding it would be weird anyway - and there’s a club performance in mid-March, so I really don’t want to go while all puffyㅠㅠ Whew whew, tomorrow I need to exercise on the rooftop for several hoursㅠㅠ Still, I always look at photos and think, if my face looked like that, how upsetting would it be - I mean, photos of people who are really swollen - but mine seems kind of like that too, though not as bad as I thought. I’m calmㅋ I usually stay on the computer all day, but even if I don’t, I have way too many things to do. Other people say they can’t go outside after surgery and are bored to death, but I feel so relievedㅋㅋ I don’t really like going outside anyway, so I’ll stay hidden and lose weight - even after midnight I used to eat lots of food without worrying, but now I’m not eating because I’m afraid of swelling, so I’ll lose weightㅋ And I never exercise at all, but since I have nothing else to do I’ll exercise, and they say you lose weight better if you move around... Also, I’ve always thought chord inversions on the piano were a hassle, so I never did them, but now I’ll practice getting used to them like crazy, and I’ll decorate my room quickly tooㅎㅎ I hope that once the semester starts, people will say I dieted and even got liposuctionㅋㅋ That’s it - the rambling surgery experience of a 22-year-old who talks a lot!
