First Incisional Surgery Consultation Review (ㅈㅅㅌ, ㅇㄹㄷㅇㅅㄹ, ㄷㅇㅇ, …

My eyes: thick skin, some eyelid fat, Mongolian folds on both sides, and inner double eyelids that get buried under the skin. My eye-opening strength is weak, and because my eyelids droop, my eyes themselves look sleepy and small even though they are not particularly small. Desired eyes: I know thick lines would turn into sausage eyelids, so I want the thinnest and most natural in-out/semi-out line possible. Round eyes XXX, horizontally long eyes OOO. Since my original eyes look too droopy and sleepy, I want double eyelid surgery mainly to make them look more open and refreshed. So I did not bring celebrity eye photos; instead, I gathered and showed photos with long horizontal length and an open look. Rather than the clear double eyelid most women want, my goal is to improve the before-to-after impression, so I also brought before-and-after photos of male eye surgery.

1. ㅈㅅㅌ (ㄱㄱㄹ) - Recommended incisional double eyelid surgery, epicanthoplasty, fat removal, and ptosis correction I do not think there was a separate consultation fee, but I did not write it down, so I am not sure... The clinic was fairly clean, and maybe because it was a weekday afternoon, it was quiet. The desk staff, consultant, and director were all kind. I went through an acquaintance’s recommendation, but I did not feel like they really understood what kind of eyes I wanted or my requests... They just marked a double eyelid line of the ordinary thickness most people want. Overall, I thought it was just average. The advantage is the low price. Cost: incisional double eyelid surgery 1.65 million KRW (event price 880,000 KRW) + fat removal 550,000 KRW + epicanthoplasty 5,000 KRW (VAT included)

2. ㅇㄹㄷㅇㅅㄹ (single-doctor clinic) - Strongly recommended incisional double eyelid surgery, upper epicanthoplasty, fat removal, and ptosis correction Consultation fee is 10,000 KRW. The inside of the clinic just felt like a clean hospital... I also went on a weekday afternoon, and it was on the quiet side. The desk staff, consultant, and director were all kind. The director was very passionate, and during the consultation, he drew pictures and explained one by one what structures the eyes have and what would be removed... He really answered even detailed and annoying questions. I kind of understand why there is a consultation fee. But he recommended ptosis correction so strongly, almost like “please, you must do this,” that I am still not sure whether this is a surgery the clinic strongly pushes or whether my eyes really need it that much... Overall, it did not seem like they pushed unnecessary surgery (*when I mentioned length, posterior canthoplasty came up, but he said it was not essential), and he did not seem extremely busy, so since it is a single-doctor clinic, I expect he would tailor things to the patient’s eyes. He tried to reflect my needs, but I do not think he fully understood them yet; it felt like he explained things in a way that was fitted to my eyes, saying this kind of approach would be good. The A/S period is usually 1 year, but here it is 2 years, which is a feature. Also, they said there are no event prices and it is a fixed price. Sedation anesthesia fee is 100,000 KRW. Cost: incisional double eyelid surgery 1.5 million KRW + ptosis correction 500,000 KRW + upper epicanthoplasty 500,000 KRW

3. ㄷㅇㅇ (ㅊㅈㅎ) - Recommended incisional double eyelid surgery, upper epicanthoplasty, fat removal, and ptosis correction No consultation fee. It is truly a large factory-style clinic and uses an entire building. I had heard the waiting time was notorious, so I went prepared, but maybe because I went on a weekday afternoon, I waited about 30 minutes. I went into the consultation room, but the director’s surgery was delayed, so I waited another 30 minutes. Overall, everyone was kind, and more than anything, the director looked very confident. As soon as he came into the consultation room, he looked at me and said first that I could get up to the eyes of a certain celebrity... As soon as he saw the photos I took out for eye references, he immediately understood my request, saying they were all horizontally long eyes. He explained the things I was curious about well, and for the parts I was curious about, he took out and showed before-and-after photos of actual surgery cases. The consultation time was on the short side. This director also gave the impression that he does not bring up unnecessary procedures. The A/S period is 1 year, and they said the clinic itself is generous with A/S, so I could come in comfortably. There is pressure to pay a same-day reservation deposit. They said they would give up to a 30% discount if I did, and that they would refund it if I canceled within a few days, but I have seen quite a few comments about plastic surgery reservation deposit refunds, so I just did not pay one. Overall, it feels like a plastic surgery factory, and that could feel like either an advantage or a disadvantage... It did not seem like the director had a distinctive aesthetic of his own, but that is my subjective opinion. Cost: incision/ptosis correction 2.7 million KRW (2.16 million KRW with event) + upper epicanthoplasty 880,000 KRW (700,000 KRW with event)

4. ㄸㅋ (ㄱㅎㅅ) - Forehead lift No consultation fee. The clinic facilities were clean. I went on a weekday afternoon, but the total waiting time was quite long, over 1 hour, and everyone seemed a bit busy. The consultant was kind and also marked a line for me. They also took photos before the consultation. Rather than looking at my eyes and saying what they were like while recommending something, the director consulted by asking back what kind of surgery I wanted. He did not strongly recommend much first and mostly wrote down what I said, but almost the only thing he brought up first was a forehead lift. A friend who had a consultation here also heard about a forehead lift lol... While sitting and waiting, I unintentionally heard someone on the phone saying they had been recommended a forehead lift, so overall it seems like a surgery this clinic pushes. I am not aging, and I am in my early 20s... I do know well that it would not necessarily be bad if done, but the scale felt too large and it was not in my plan... It felt like for patients whose eyes would need ptosis correction, they mostly recommend this instead of ptosis correction..? So after that, I had trouble focusing on the rest of the consultation. Overall, I would say my personal trust dropped a bit because they suddenly recommended a forehead lift... Cost: incision/ptosis correction 2.5 million KRW + epicanthoplasty 500,000 KRW + upper epicanthoplasty 500,000 KRW (discount available with event)

Among these clinics, if I were to do it, 2 and 3 feel decent. I am still thinking about it, though. Going around for consultations is hard.....
