I’m going around for consultations because of a contracted nose, and the hospital I went to today brought up siliconeㅠ They said to remove the silicone and capsule, then after 2 months do new silicone plus autologous costal cartilage. They said dermis is basically the same as something that all gets absorbed, and since I currently have a 6 mm silicone implant in, if this is replaced with dermis, I really won’t like the shape. They said the chance of getting contracture again in a nose that has already had contracture is like the chance of getting into a traffic accident, and that silicone originally does not react with the human body, so this is not a foreign-body reaction but that the contracture came from chronic inflammation.
