Me getting double eyelid surgery was my family’s long-cherished wish... I kept holding out, saying I didn’t want a knife touching my body and that I was pretty even without it(?), but one thing led to another and I ended up having surgery. It’s not that I never even tried, actually... 10 years ago, I went to Sㅇ Plastic Surgery near Samseong Station (now in Sinsa-dong), and maybe because I went through someone I knew, very conscientiously (lol), the director in charge of eyes said, ‘If it were me, I wouldn’t do it... You won’t be satisfied with the result,’ so I just came back. At the beginning of this year too, believing in 10 years of medical advancement, I went for consultations at a few places, but they said similar things... So I gave up. Then about a month ago, my younger sibling couldn’t stand my mother’s grumbling anymore (‘That ugly girl doesn’t even know she’s ugly and won’t even get double eyelid surgery...’), threw me a list of famous plastic surgery clinics, and told me to go around to all of them that day...
